Words only mean what you want them to mean
Everything that wasn't said left lying between
What was really meant and what it will now hold
He watches the confusion he created now unfold
He sits in the morning not knowing what to say
Not exactly sure how it goes, just feeling his way
He scratches his head, still not sure what to write
He starts to write the things he think she might like
She doesn't see things through the same eyes I do
The eyes, that due to my mood, change their hue
How can I be expected to see things as she would?
Would I change the things I saw? If only I could..
If he knew what he wrote would be deemed untrue
He'd turn his back on everything he thought he knew
He'd change his life around to make thing seem right
Make them fit into this tiny box held just out of sight
He'd say he was sorry and swallow his pride
Apologize for letting her see what was inside
He'd tell her she's not as perfect as he thinks
And that sometimes, yeah, her shit does stink
Nobody wants to have to live up to perfection
It's about time we get back in the right direction
So this is what he is saying to the girl he knows
He knows she's not perfect, but as far as that goes
WHO GIVES A FUCK! IT'S ONLY WORDS
