They have been here the whole time. They were always there, behind every word that every world leader, every government, every citizen ever said. In the beginning they were feared, they were worshipped, they were shunned. They were beings that seemed immortal, seemed invincible, and yet they would just come and go. No one understood how they came to be. They were never seen born, just found. They grew with the land, their attitudes and judgments based on those on their land. It was a long time before anyone could put it all together, that these beings were the land, they were the country, they were the nation.
At first they were given the ultimate say, the ultimate power, but they refused. The nations did not want to control their own people, because it would be like controlling themselves. They felt their people's pain, joys, and sorrows. Some of the nations have been around for centuries, while others die with the collapse of their country.
Now, in present times the personified nations interact freely with their people, and other personifications. They are looked to for advice, inspiration, and even hope. In 1945, coinciding with the formation of the United Nations, the personified countries also got together and formed the We Are The Nation Organization. It was designed to allow citizens of every country to see that getting involved in their countries fate was easier than before. That it was truly the people that made the nation.
"They can keep fighting, they can ignore others, and they can be greedy. However, it is our job, as their country to show them the right path, to guide them, because it is their actions that determine their fate, your fate, my fate, our fate. We can't force them to do anything, but if we show them that they can do something, that they are heard, then maybe, we as nations can exist peacefully." – Taylor Curtis, The United States of America, speech to the We Are The Nation 1946 summit.
This is just the intro, I know a lot of people are gonna hate on this for being similar to Hetalia. But look, this is something I have had in my head for years, and it goes into a more complex story line than hetalia. This plot, these fictional characters are mine. This is entirely fictional, portrayel of real events are in the view of the character, how I think they would react. Some sensetive issues may be brought up, I am not trying to offend anyone.
