Without knowing entirely why or how he'd been talked into it, Eska began a quest to unknown destinations, the severed head swinging by his hair in his clenched fist.

"I have marked a path here." Rubo spoke up, making Eska flinch at that raspy voice.

Sure enough up ahead was stacked several large stones, pyramiding up until they towered above even the higher trees.

"Here." Rubo stated, causing Eska to halt.

Eska could feel something under the soles of his feet, the hairs upon the back of his neck prickling.

"This is a dark place." The samurai claimed, shutting his eyes.

"Do it here." Rubo ordered.

Without hesitation the young man flung the remainder of Rubo Galane several feet into the air above his head, raising Gong-Si nearly simultaneously and slashing at the air before him, as if to slice through the darkness that lingered there. As if splitting a curtain the quantum constructing the space before them parted upon a molecular level, opening a hole in the world in which the two were inhaled into and spat elsewhere in the Omni verse. Rapaciously flung through the gap, the young Eska was left gasping at alien air, heavy with led and foreign matter, the severed head beside him face down on the sand. There upon the shores of some lost paradise, or perhaps some hidden hell, Eska stared, gaping as bright lights like stars floated before him in darkness. 'Fireflies' he mused, his mind fading as his vision blurred. Slowly then he faded away.
