It seems like so long since I've come to this place,
because I've been too weak to face
the memories that meet me here,
the memories of blood and scars and tears.
My heart weeps for that long spring,
when many words alone could bring
so much pain into my life,
so much pain I couldn't fight.
The hurt felt like a pendulum,
swinging back and forth,
to never end.
Despite all this, my life ticked by,
as friends and foes idled by.
My heart weeps for that long spring,
when many words alone could bring
so much pain into my life,
so much pain I couldn't fight.
Now I smile and laugh with ease,
because of where I thought I'd be.
Because all is well,
Even though I've past the point of no return.
But my heart still weeps for that long spring,
when many words alone could bring
so much pain into my life,
so much pain I couldn't fight.
