"I won't believe a word you s-say." Lucas smirked. "I guess I could call out my guards to prove it to you. I'll even make them lock you up for trying to run away with my princess." "L-like hell I-I'll let you d-do that." "Ha! You can't even talk properly or fight properly, so how can you stop my guards, you pathetic creature?" Leo straightened up and growled. "I can fight them off perfectly." He waved his sword. "Summon them. I'll defeat them all." Lucas raised an eyebrow. "Oh really? Are you sure?" "Bring it on!" Lucas narrowed his eyes. "Guards!" he called out. Leo paled. "Y-you really called them." Lucas smirked. "Yes I did. They should come here any minute now." I ran in front of Leo, arms spread wide to guard him from Lucas. "You are NOT getting my best friend locked up," I waved my hand. "You'll have to defeat ME first!" I focused all of my emotions-sadness for Snowflake, friendship for Leo, and anger for Lucas- into an energy ball in my hand and attacked. "Hiya!" I shouted. Lucas narrowed his eyes and dodged the ball of energy, but just one second late. My energy ball hit his left shoulder, causing it to turn red and throb. Lucas growled, glaring at me. "If you weren't the beloved of Snowflake, you'd be dead by now." I paused, curious. "What is your relationship with Snowflake?" "None of your business." I summoned my ice sword and pointed it on the tip of his neck. "I'll ask you one more time: what's your relationship with her?" "None of your business." I pursed my lips and dug the sword closer to his neck. "Say that again?" "None of your business. If you want to kill me, then kill me. Cause I'm sure you forgot all about the guards that I summoned." He smirked. My eyes widened and I whirled around, only to find nothing at the door. "There's no one ther-" I felt something unbearably hot on my neck. I froze and slowly turned around. Lucas' eyes were boring into mine and he was pointing his sword on my neck. He leaned forward and growled in my ear, "Never mention Snowflake in front of me. No matter what." It was obvious then that they must've had a pretty bad relationship. "O-ok, got it," I croaked. Lucas lowered his sword and said, "Well, then, we'd better get ready for the meeting. See you later." "Y-Yeah. See you," I stammered. Leo was right. Lucas was a cruel man, as if someone had burned his heart long ago, with only ashes of harshness left behind. Lucas left the room. I stared at the door for a moment, realizing that he looked pretty cute. I blushed. 'Remember, he's a serial killer. I can't like him,' I thought. "Crystal, are you ok?!" Leo scrambled towards me and gently touched my neck. I gasped. Pain suddenly came like a wildfire; it felt like it was burning. "You're burnt. Forget about the stupid meeting. Let's go to the infirmary." "No, I'm f-fine," I stammered, bearing the pain. "Mom'll be furious if she finds out that I've been in a fight with Lucas. L-Let's just go." I slowly stood up. Leo looked at me uncertainly. "Are you sure?" "Y-yeah. Let's just go." "Ok, then, I'll help you get some breakfast. You just sit here and rest." I nodded. "O-ok," I stammered as Leo hurried out of the room. "I'm sorry, Leo," I muttered as a packed my things, ready to leave for the human world. Well, how was the new chapter?
