"You did all of that?"
Anthony paused for a long time before speaking.
"Alli… That's unbelievable."
"I know… I can barely believe it myself. Just a few months ago I had no idea about any of this, I was just completely normal."
"Yeah… I know."
He didn't seem like himself. "Anthony, are you okay?"
"This just seems too… coincidental. That all of this stuff fits together perfectly. How did the cops never find out?"
"I don't really know…"
"And how did you manage killing him without other people hearing?" He didn't wait a response. "How did you learn all of this in four days anyway? How did you go unnoticed when you killed people? And how do you not cry? It's off, it's just too weird Alli!"
"I don't know everything! Okay, Anthony? I don't have all of the answers!"
He paused, and suddenly his voice sounded cold, and dense. "Allison… You would tell me if you were lying to me, right?"
I froze for a second. "You don't think…"
"I'm sorry, but I just can't take part in this story of yours anymore. Call me incredulous, but this is all fitting together too well, and it's not normal. I'm sorry."
"No you're not."
"I am, Alli."
"If you were sorry you'd believe me! Yes, I do feel guilt for killing two people, of course I do! I'm sorry I don't show it. And I'm sorry that coincidences are too crazy for you to handle. Call me back when you choose to believe a single fucking word I say." And with that, I hung up the phone.
It's times like this when I wish I could cry.
