Author's Note:Here we go! The beginning of my story! As I said in my profile, I'll update this as much as I can. Enjoy (if you like it that is)! I'll also openly take any criticism (I'm not really veteran writer)! I'll need it to improve whatever I have to improve here!

Prologue

It was the middle of midnight, the cold wind making my cloak flap in different directions. The crowd has long since left the square after the speech, leaving only three people standing on a small stage that was only used during important events.

Two of them were army knights. They were standing on either side of the platform in their shining silver armor which was bearing the Frontier emblem, a round silver shield with an upside down sword behind it, on the middle of their breastplates. Both of the knights were obviously assigned to protect the third person who was sitting on a wooden chair, looking bored waiting for the carriage that will take him back to his father's mansion.

Rage, hatred, and bitterness rose in my chest or more accurately, in my whole being as my eyes fell on him. But my face only contained a cold expression.

This is it, I thought maliciously. It's finally time to pay back all the suffering you made me endure.

Of course, I'm not stupid. I knew that attacking immediately wasn't good because there may be more guards stationed nearby. My suspicion was proved right when I saw two archers. The first one was standing on the flat slate roof of a square, two-story stone building. He was obviously watching over the streets and alleyways for any suspicious movement. The second one was standing on the balcony of a similar looking house, doing the same thing as what the first was doing.

My black cloak camouflaging me in the darkness, I moved into position and hid behind a rain barrel which was about shooting distance to the stage and the two stationary archers. I then waited for the right moment to strike. After a while, my target got drowsy and eventually fell to sleep, much to my luck. I drew my bow which was strapped sideways behind my back and was hidden beneath my cloak, then nocked an arrow which I got from my quiver.

Aiming at the first archer on the roof, I let the arrow fly…

And the deadly missile buried itself on the archer's chest, and he fell down the roof, dead.

Before the other three guards could even react to what happened, I shot another arrow as fast as I could at the second archer's chest then quickly slung my bow over my shoulder. I then drew my dual daggers from my waist and threw simultaneously at the heads of both the knights on the stage.

They haven't even managed to scream before they collapsed and fell on the cold, hard street.

I smiled evilly at the success of my plan. My target didn't even twitch at the sound of armor crashing on the ground. He was a reallyheavy sleeper.

Shivering in feral excitement of finally getting my long awaited vengeance, I went to one of the main objects of my hatred after making sure no one else was around.

As I was starting to get near him, I again strapped my bow behind my back—then drew my spear from it.

Payback time, I thought with evil glee, ready to stab him in the heart.
