A/N: So this is a poem I had to write for English class last year. I probably spent two hours trying to think of something to write a poem on. I was freaking out since I never write poems and I just honestly didn't know what to write.

So everyone knows, I love Geometry. It is easily my favorite subject thus far in high school (seeing as I'm a Junior in high school). I actually really want to be a math teacher and I hope to one day teach Geometry like the teacher that kind of inspired me to be a math teacher.

Either way, my friend jokingly said (in passing) that I should write a poem on geometry. Of course, that gave me ideas and next thing I knew, this happened.

And for all those who catch the three song references in here, there is a reason. In freshmen year when I had this certain teacher, this band came up one day in class and my friend ordered me to listen to them. I've fallen in love with this band since then (and it is currently my favorite band) but it has been the on-going joke since this teacher actually started it all and (after my friend had told him I had listened to it and fallen in love with the band) he would actually ask what songs I'd listened to and recommend other songs.

Geometry Secrets

Many ask my favorite subject,

But answer as I may,

They never seem to understand,

My love for geometry.

Firstly I love the logic unit.

Trying to reason through the problems,

And prove them false or true,

Is a topic I find easy to do.

Secondly I love Locus.

Using the compass to draw,

Angle bisectors and much more

Are few of the secrets in store.

Thirdly I love Planes,

Learning of the intersections,

The angles shared between,

Is enough to make me want to dream.

Despite all the great topics,

And amazing perks that come,

There is a single topic I love most,

Which are typically called Proofs.

There's the Indirect Proof,

With their Blasphemous Rumors,

In which trying to solve,

Involves proving them to be untrue.

Then there's the Coordinate Proof,

Involving proving different quadrilaterals,

To be either Rhombus, Square, or rectangle,

Yet don't forget parallelogram, trapezoid, and kite too.

There's also the typical triangle proof,

Which are straightforward and easy enough to do,

Using Side-Angle-Side and Angle-Side-Angle

Are just two methods to follow it through.

Lastly there are the transversals,

Proving angles to be congruent,

External and internal opposites,

As well as parallel corresponding too.

Those are just a few topics,

That make my life seem complete,

Causing my heart to skip a beat,

And my self-confidence to soar.

They're just a few of Geometry's secrets,

Which some find difficult to do,

But as I always say:

Nothing's Impossible,

And I Just Can't Get Enough.
