Colored Lens

This world was dull and boring
And full of nasty things
Dreams are broken, hopes are crushed
I often wished for wings

But wishes are just dreams
Called by another name
The same things always happen
We all play the same game

So here, I guess, i'll say to you
Why I have written this
Taking up your precious time
Which you will surely miss

In this world of nasty things
Of liars, cheaters, "friends" -
I think we've all been seeing it
Though a colored lens.
