In a neighborhood
A place where the sun shines
But the feelings inside every soul
Is dark and demented.
Abusive fights,
Silent screams,
And fearful tears.
The kids were high
Like kites in the sky
But they used drugs to get that way.
Every innocent face
Turned into a selfish pit
Of self-loathing or self-worship.
Smiles are fake
And evil
When given.
Even the adults
In that place
Wish for something more than 'this'.
Late night parties
With wasted
And aggressive teens.
The schools are filled
With pedophiles
And children that have weapons.
When people walked down the street
They turned their heads
Side to side.
Fear guides us
Into every step
In the small desert town.
