A poem I wrote during health class and at lunch while everyone was going crazy over the snow. Each stanza is a haiku.

snow

falling from the sky
that powdery, white substance
is our long wait done?

coats creep from closets
mufflers, mittens, boots and scarves
let's go play outside

snowballs in the air
the backyard a battleground
wars begin again

shedding snow-caked clothes
hot cocoa awaits us all
fills our souls with warmth

time to go to bed
snow fills our dreams at night
waking up to more
