I set my cup down on the dirty and beat up coffee table that sat beside the messy couch I was spread out on. I tried to relax amidst the rage of the party. I looked up despite my constant want to keep my gaze down. I saw him standing there waiting for me to notice him, I glowered at him and returned to staring at my half empty red cup. He sat down beside me, obviously ignoring my apparent grumpy Ora and subtle hints I was throwing his way, all saying, "go away".
"Hey" he said into my ear as he sat down on the couch, he said it just loud enough so that I could hear it above all the noise. I turned to face him, swinging my legs over the sofa and onto the floor. "Some party" I announced, trying to make conversation. He grinned slightly exposing his pristine teeth, he chuckled under his breath and remarked, "We can make it better". I looked into his eyes , they seemed to radiate with the green color that they were. I attempted to decipher if he was stoned or drunk.
I decided against my first hunch. He wasn't either. But I went with a safe reply, it didn't let on to anything that I may or may not of wanted, "Very funny". He smiled at me, his eyes creasing at the edges. He didn't move his gaze until I forced out a smirk. Suddenly my mood changed. It was like someone flipped a switch inside me. But I couldn't let him know that i was suddenly interested. I had to be mysterious yet casual.
I decided to turn on the charm, "Well I've actually been looking for someone all night" ('There goes the casual' i told myself). He looked around as if to find the person I was hinting about. "Here?!" he said, still turned away from me. I silently made my way to his lap, knees grinding into the too-soft cushions of the couch on either side of his thighs. When he turned back toward me I surprised him with a longer-than-anticipated kiss. "you" I uttered silently, centimeters away from his face. I kept my eyes closed as to not ruin the strangely fragile moment. When I noticed he didn't disapprove I leaned into a more passionate kiss. He wasn't bad. He was actually a very good kisser.
I ran my lips along his ear. I kissed his neck, his cheeks, his nose. When I got back to his lips again he opened his eyes, surprising me with their intensity again, and said, "Are you sure you want to do this?" I rasped, "Bring it" into his ear. He laughed a smiling laugh and grunted, "In that case...". He softly bit my lip in response to my apprehension. Doing this and being here felt good, like I could do this forever and never leave his side. I ran my fingers through his deep brown hair. It tickled my palm, making me grin. He caressed my neck with one of his warm and strong hands. The other molded around my waist. He was pulling me closer with by my waist until it felt as if i was sitting on his chest. My long brunette hair swayed behind me each time he moved his hand to a different spot on the nape of my neck. He never let go. He guided me and made me feel sure and confident...I liked that, I liked him...
And so the most unlikely love fell upon us that night and was forever ours...
