Chapter 1: Back to School
I waited out on the corner of the street. Just a normal kid waiting for the school bus right? I wish. It was true I was waiting for the school bus but I wasn't there on normal terms. Well, technically I was the same as everyone else waiting for the bus except for one or two things. First I didn't have parents and no, I wasn't adopted either. I was on my own. Then second, I wasn't interested in learning at all. I was interested in revenge. What attracted me to school? Fulligan. A name engraved into my memory so long ago.
I wasn't the most warm, fuzzy, friendly type. You could probably guess that from the whole revenge thing. That or the dark, hateful aura I gave off. Just looking at me people tended to shuffle their feet in another direction. My outfit was dark. Black jeans, black sneakers, black t-shirt, black sweatshirt. Of course you might think something about Goths and emos in there. I wasn't either. My clothes steered people away from me and I liked it that way. People don't get the same impression when you walk around wearing sparkly t-shirts with pictures of unicorns and bunny rabbits do they? Of course then there's the whole misleading thing too. Someone asks what I look like and they'll probably get an answer like, "Some kid wearing black with black hair and he had his hood up." How many kids can you think of that look like that or could if they were on the run, stealing something, or doing some other crime. I can name a couple and I barely know anybody.
Make sense? Like at all? If it doesn't it probably will eventually but in order for that to happen we better continue.
I was bored as hell. It was cold, cloudy, and everything was just grey. Just another chilly, dull October morning. I don't remember how I could stand it. Before the whole revenge thing set in I went to school, got homework, got a daily headache from my head hitting the desk whenever I fell asleep, and I did indeed have parents. They were your normal average parents that made sure I got on the bus and- speaking of buses, mine had arrived after what felt like forever. It slowed and the driver gave me that stupid signal. Okay I'm 14. I know how to cross the street. I hefted my backpack onto a shoulder and started across the road. When I actually got on the driver gave me a dirty look. First impressions are always the best so instead of returning it (which is what I normally would've done) I gave him a slight smile hoping it would make me seem less shady or dark or creepy or whatever other word you decide to use to describe me. It seemed to have the desired effect be cause the driver looked away. That might not seem much better but at least he wasn't glaring at me. At least I could say I tried. I found an empty seat and huddled there. I don't think I mentioned how much I absolutely hate coats. They were just too heavy and then they got all wet and wherever you tried to put them got all wet. I actually hated anything that restricted my movement or feeling at all. No gloves, no coats, no extra layers, no hats, preferably no headphones (I did listen to music from time to time), and no shoes that didn't fit snug that I would trip in or get blisters from. So when it came to heat I was fine, but with cold... it didn't bother me much but you do have to be careful. Exposure can kill you. You probably don't have to worry about that but I didn't always have a place to sleep every night. Oh well, whatever.
You might not know about my feelings of buses. I hated them. They smelled bad, you never knew who had sat in them before you, and they took just so damn long. Of course I had a seat to myself for a while. (I was technically a new student.) Turns out, there were way too many people for that bus. There were three to a seat and people still standing. I should add that to the list. Buses forced your personal space to be invaded. The person who had sat next to me was obviously a girl. (She had dumped a bottle of lilac perfume over her head five minutes before and I was not a fan of the smell of lilac.) Neither of us looked at each other directly. Just one of those really awkward moments in life. Then the third person sat in our seat and our knees were stripped of their freedom of movement. The lilac swirled around and pounded a nail into my skull. I dared a glance to the side and regretted it almost immediatly. I hated the accidental looking into each others eyes. The girl next to me was thinner than a toothpick and had sharp, angular features. I never really liked people like that and considering she could afford to put on that much perfume, she must be rich. I'm not one for stereotypes, but I did use them in the case of quickly deciding wether to bother saying anything or not. In this case rich I took to mean spoiled brat. Which I later found was true.
Eventually we reached the school. My legs finally felt the sweet relief of movement. The school looked like one of those buildings that you never wanted to go in but you always had to. (I know I'm wierd. You don't have to say it.) As soon as I got inside the horrid smell of papers and ink hit me. The only reason that smell seemed so horrid to me was because it was always in schools. I hated school. (I'm being a hater today aren't I? Well, haters gunna hate.) I pulled out my schedule. First period was math. Oh goody, random gibberish first thing in the morning. (At least it's not global you lucky dog.) I'm still being a hater aren't I? I guess I just wasn't in a good mood. So off to my first day back in teenager hell.
I love starting new stories don't I? Now what to call this one... Whatever, Hope you guys enjoyed it. (Man my chapters are short aren't they?) BTW I'm trying a little experiment in this. Lets see if it works. Please review now. (Still your decision... again.) Thanks for stickin with me through the first chapter. Hope to see you again!
