Sound Waves
We know something's the matter
on hearing glass shatter
or the grinding moan
over a fractured bone.
Even the heavens wonder
at cloud-bursting thunder.
But of all things torn asunder
the loudest sound
I have found
is the silence we make
when a trusting heart we break.
