I Didn't Run Back Home (Jan 21)
I was running through the wood park
avoiding cars they only way I could have
and I suddenly found a dog
that was running right behind me.
I don't think it could catch me.
So I ran and ran,
and he barked and barked
and I did not know
if he wanted to eat me or not.
And when I looked back
to the sound of screeching cars
I saw the dog on the ground,
looking at the sky
dead as dead could be
cold as cold should be.
The driver just left
not wanting to deal with its death
but I returned to nourish him
until he could rest his eyes
embracing the end.
The dog only shook
and its breathing slowly took
the life that it had away.
So I carried him,
and buried him
beneath the abandoned house
right beside an abandoned house.
I didn't run back home.
I walked, thinking about what should I've done.
Sad story. It didn't really happen, though.
