Hurricane Sandy
Snow and hail and rain and winds,
This is what a hurricane brings.
Death and destruction darkens this hour,
Watch as she wields her mysterious power.
Gather you memories, the things from which you used to call home,
Because Sandy will devour everything that you own.
Weep as she eats her way through our city,
Watch as she taints everything that was once pretty.
Terror and fright until the next night,
Yet eternity seems how long we must fight.
Alas, when the sun finally beat down and the storm had cleared,
Piecing together New York City was something everyone most feared.
A/N: Wrote this piece for the Hurricane Sandy victims and had my teacher send it to an English photographer who was trapped in New York during treacherous the time.
RIP to all who lost family members and cherished friends.
