D9: Here's the next scene. The opening is called 'To Reach The Sky'. Next up will be a very enjoyable duel. It is the first duel with Shiro. Decode9 Over and Out.

Scene 3-Majestic VS Exceed

Nicole looked at her deck and reviewed her hand ("I did my best to work out a new idea as I rode that train. Guess this is the best way to test them.") she thought looking at Shiro.

"Okay Card Master. I will start this duel off." Nicole said drawing a card. In hand she has Data Archer (x2), Data Virus, Pure Soul, LV1 Pride, Research, Ocean Gatekeeper. Nicole smiled at the hand she got ("Going to that card shop every day after school for a couple weeks really payed off") she thought

"I summon to the field Data Archer." Nicole declared as a LV2 human warrior with cybernetic altercations and a long bow arm appeared in front of her with 1600ATK 1500DEF "That's a new one on me." Shiro said looking at the monster.

"It's my first time using it, and I plan on using it to its best. So by removing the copy of Data Archer from my hand it gains 200ATK until the end step of the turn." Nicole explained as the copy of Data Archer vanished from her hand.

("Huh? But she went first? Why would she do that?") Shiro wondered "Then I will set a card and end my turn." Nicole said and a card materialized in front of her "Okay then. I will draw." Shiro said drawing his seventh card.

In Shiro's hand was Whirlwind Guardian, Vortex Hero, C to K, Element Dragonic, Element World, Protection Chains, and finally Stalemate. Shiro looked at his hand a moment then chuckled "Well if this isn't Déjà vu'?" Shiro said to himself "I will start off by summoning Whirlwind Guardian on the defense." He continued as a monk in green robes riding a air scooter appeared in front of him. He is LV1 with 100ATK 1500DEF

"Then I will set one and end my turn" Shiro said, but as he said it a counter card flipped up on Nicole's side of the field. This card showed a humanoid bookkeeper robot reading a book "I activate a counter card. This one is called Research." She said and Shiro just looked psyched

"With this card I can now add a LV1 or 2 Data attribute monster to my hand, but then I have to remove a card from my hand." She explained as she added a Grey cybernetic armor with cables sticking out of the back. It is LV1 with 0ATK 0DEF.

She then removed LV1 Pride from her hand "Data?" Shiro said quizzically. Hagane was thinking the same thing, but did not notice a person come from behind her "Hi Hagane." A girls voice said. She jumped and turned around. The girl that talked to her is 14 around Hagane's height now. Has shoulder length black hair and purple eyes. She is wearing the girls uniform, and has a vivid purple ring on her right ring finger.

"Mizuki! Please don't do that." She asked and the Void user just shrugged and tried to look over the crowd "What's going on?" Mizuki asked "Shiro got into another duel." Hagane replied "What else is new?" Mizuki said sarcastically.

"But this time it's different. This girl is not from around here." Hagane said catching Mizuki's attention "How do you say that?" Mizuki asked "Because for one she is not wearing the uniform, and two I practically know every girl in town." Hagane responded and Mizuki put her hand to her chin thinking.

"And she also uses Data attribute cards." Another voice interjected "Yeah that to. Thanks Snipes…" Hagane said behind her to Snipes…Wait Snipes!

Hagane and Mizuki jumped in surprise "Don't do that!" Mizuki half screamed at Snipes "Do what?" he asked while Hagane was mumbling something about 'second time she almost had a heart attack' and 'two people need a pair of squeaky shoes.'

Back in the duel it is now Nicole's turn and she draw a card. It is Firewall "I summon to the field my Exceed Armor!" Nicole declared as the armor she added appeared

"Then I combine Exceed Armor with Data Archer to Synthesis Summon my Tempest Xross Armor!" Nicole said as a LV5 steel gray angular armor, cybernetic tech wires ring the shoulders and chest plate. The gloves are oversized gauntlets with knuckle spikes. It attaches to Nicole giving her 2700ATK 2300DEF "When this armor is summoned all your monsters ATK and DEF are halved." She explained as a mighty wind covered the field reducing Whirlwind Guardian to 750DEF.

"Wow. Now that's an armor." Shiro said "It is, but I'm not done yet. I activate the effect of my Exceed Armor in the discard pile. I can unite it with cards in the Discard Pile and remove them in order to summon another armor" She explained.

Then in place of her Tempest Xross Armor a LV5 Cyan and Silver angular armor with a slightly oversized gauntlet with a wind symbol on it appeared and attached to Nicole giving her 2100ATK 1400DEF

"Say hello to my Aero Xross Armor." Nicole said "A double so early!" Shiro said in surprise "Wow whoever it is is really good." Mizuki said from where she was, but she could not shrug the feeling that the voice sounded familiar.

"Now for a new trick. I return Exceed Armor, and my two Data Archers to the deck from the removed pile to special summon from y hand Ocean Gatekeeper." Nicole said and a LV2 black scaled serpent with fins like that of a deep sea creature appeared in front of her. It has 1800ATK 1900DEF.

"Then I will set a card…and I attack with my armor!" She declared and charged at Whirlwind Guardian and used her fist causing Whirlwind Guardian to shatter. Trish backed up and a orb or wind energy gathered up in her hand.

"Now comes the effect of my armor. You take 3HB damage per card in hand. Since you haves 5…" Trish started and Shiro began counting "Lets see that would be…15 damage." Shiro said.

Just then a wind hit him throwing him back making his HB 25 "Okay that hurt." Shiro said "Now that the path is cleared Ocean Gatekeeper go direct." Ocean Gatekeeper summoned a giant wave, but Shiro flipped up a counter card that showed a rune with a C and K.

"I activate the Counter card C To K. You select a card in my hand, and choose either the first or second part of the name and try to guess the first letter from a C to K if you are right it is discarded, but if you guess it wrong then I can use that card, and if it's a monster I can summon it." Shiro explained holding up his hand

"Okay I choose the second card on the left." Nicole started "And?" Shiro said holding up said card "And the first letter is a C." Nicole said. For a moment there was silence. Then a roar was heard as a LV3 Crystal Dragon with 2000ATK 1500DEF appeared on the field

"Sorry, but you where wrong. I summon Element Dragonic which was the card you choose." Shiro said "Dang. I cancel Ocean Gatekeepers attack, and end my turn." Nicole said and Shiro drew his card.

"So what exactly are the Data cards?" Mizuki asked Snipes as they were trying to get into a better position to watch "The Data cards are one of the newest attributes that was invented by Shiro's father Lazarus. The other is the Thunder attribute cards." Snipes explained

"What do they do exactly?" Hagane asked "I have heard that they specialize in a special type of armor summoning, and they wield a new kind of monster." He explained "Hmm…She sound familiar." Mizuki whispered "Something troubling you Mizuki?" Hagane asked "Hmm…" Mizuki did not answer because she did not hear Hagane because when she was thinking she blocked everything else out.

Finally Hagane waved her hand in front of Mizuki getting her attention "Hmm…Yes Hagane?" she asked "You okay?" Hagane asked a little worried "Yes. It's just that this girl's voice sounds familiar." She replied

Meanwhile back in the duel Shiro drew a card. It was Majestic Armor. Shiro grinned when he saw it "I summon my Majestic Armor." Shiro yelled as a LV1 pure white armor appeared with 0ATK 0DEF. The others heard it "Wow. Seems like Shiro is really trying." Hagane said

"No surprise there. Shiro always gives it his all when it comes to a duel." Snipes replied in a calm tone "Alright! I combine my Majestic Armor with Element Dragonic to synthesis summon the coolest of my cool armors…The one and only…" Shiro started

"STOP DRAGGING IT OUT!" Hagane yelled from where she was causing Shiro to stop "Shut up dwarf!" he yelled back as he tried to see where she was yelling from. Back where they are Mizuki and Snipes are holding Hagane back so she does not make Shiro extra crispy.

"Anyways I synthesis summon my Majestic Element Armor!" Shiro declared as a LV5 crystal like armor resembling Element Dragonic with wings attached to Shiro giving him 2500ATK 2000DEF "Whoa. That is a cool armor." Nicole said.

"Yep, and with its effect I treat can treat it as any attribute so I will treat it as a Flame attribute monster." Shiro said as a red aura covered his armor "Then I activate the Field Spell Element World!" Shiro declared and the area changed and they were now in a valley with grass surrounding them.

"Since I have Flame attribute monster when I destroy a monster you take its Attack as damage to your HB." Shiro explained "Uh-oh." Nicole said "I am coming at your armor. Element Orb!" Shiro declared as an orb with multiple lights appeared in his hand. He charged at Nicole and the orb engulfed her armor shattering it and reducing her to 36. Then flames engulfed her reducing her to 15.

"I end my turn." Shiro said and Element Dragonic along with Majestic Armor returned to his hand. Nicole drew a card. It was Soul Surge "Alright Shiro. You may have got my armor, but I still got an ace in the hole. I equip Pure Soul to Ocean Gatekeeper." Nicole declared as a white orb circled around Ocean Gatekeeper

"Then I activate the Flash spell Soul Surge." Nicole said calmly activating a spell that showed several different colored soul orbs ascending into clouds "What does that do?" Shiro asked slightly confused

"I send a monster on my field to the discard pile equipped with a 'Soul' equipment to summon a Soul Monster." Nicole explained "Soul monster? What is that?" Shiro asked

"What is a Soul Monster Snipes?" Hagane asked while him and Mizuki where still holding her "It's a special card used in another city." Snipes replied

"I send Ocean Gatekeeper to the discard pile with Pure Soul and Soul Summon Digital System Alpha!" Trish exclaimed as a LV2 machine that is part robotic and part tank with blaster like arms appeared in place of the giant serpent with 2300ATK 1000DEF

"Cool." Was all that Shiro could say "Yeah it is, and so is its effect. Now I can switch a monster in the discard pile with one in the deck." She explained as she added Ocean Gatekeeper to the deck and sent another Exceed Armor to the discard pile.

"Now I attack you directly with Alpha. Booster shot!" Nicole declared and Alpha charged up the blasters in its hand and shot two blue beams at Shiro. When the explosion cleared a barrier of wind was protecting Shiro and his HB was still at 25.

"Huh? Umm…What just happened?" She asked, and then saw Whirlwind Guardian producing a the wind shield "By removing Whirlwind Guardian I can reduce the damage I take for a turn to 0." Shiro explained, after that Digital System Alpha overloaded and exploded.

"Okay…My turn to ask. What just happened?" Shiro responded and Nicole rubbed her head "Oh yeah…forgot to mention that if Digital System Alpha declares a direct attack then during the end of the damage step it is destroyed and sent to the discard pile." She responded ("I totally forgot that! But at least I have a way to make it up") She thought

"Alright Shiro. Hope you're ready for something a little different. Because I am using Exceed Armors effect again." She said as her discard pile lights up a fade grey "I combine Exceed Armor with Aero Xross Armor, and Digital System Alpha." Nicole continued as a Silver Orb encased her.

"It's a synthesis summon, but looks a little different." Shiro muttered as the orb that encased Nicole began to vanish and revealed a cybernetic green and grey armor that had data coils around it attached to Nicole. It is LV3 with 1900ATK 1700DEF

"Soul Armor: Energy Armor." Nicole declared "I have never heard of that." Shiro said looking at the armor "This is specialty armor. Only the people in my city use these kinds, but they are rare to find in other cities" Nicole said smirking. Then she ended her turn and the armor stayed since it is a double.

"Man this is a close duel. Okay then…Lets step it up a notch!" Shiro said as he drew. He looked at it and it was a card that showed two people in armor attacking each other "I activate the spell card Armory Showdown." Shiro said revealing the card he just drew.

"I can activate this card if my opponent controls a armor and I don't. It returns the armor to your Galaxy Deck, but forces both of us to summon a armor from our Galaxy Deck without the requirements. Also it counts as a synthesis summon." Shiro replied ("Wow. Shiro is really forcing me into a corner.") Nicole thought as her armor returned to the Galaxy Deck.

A ocean blue armor appeared and attached to him. It is LV4 with 2200ATK 2900DEF "Oh yeah! Light Ocean Armor is here." Shiro said. A silver orb encased Nicole. When it cleared She was wearing a sleek black cybernetic armor that has red highlights around the armor and helmet. She had a beam saber handle on her side. The armor is LV5 with 2500ATK 2000DEF.

"Soul Armor: OverDrive Armor." Trish said with a smirk "Wow. Another cool looking armor, but I still got a trick up my sleeve. When Light Ocean Armor is summoned and I don't control anything else I draw cards till I have 8." Shiro explained drawing 2 additional cards. The cards where Full Element Charge (x2)

(A/N: Wow. Luck of the draw anyone?)

The cards were added to Shiro's hand "Finally I activate the two cards I just drew which are both Full Element Charge. Which gives an additional 1000 to a synthesis armor. So by activating 2 that gives 2000 additional." Shiro explained as his armor went up to 4200ATK

"I attack your armor!" Shiro said and charged at Nicole with a deep blue orb. The attack made contact, but when the attack hit and the smoke cleared there was a surprise.

Nicole: 15

"Huh?" Shiro said, and saw a card on Nicole's side of the field that showed a wall of red data protecting a player "Sorry Shiro, but my counter card Firewall has something else to say. As long as I control a data attribute monster all damage I take is 0." She explained

"Dang it. Well better close than not close at all. I end my turn." Shiro said and the armor returned to his Galaxy Deck. Nicole drew and it was Data Archer "Alright! Okay Shiro the game is up. I summon out Data Archer again!" Nicole declared, but as she was going to activate its effect the bell rang for free period to be over.

"Oh man." Shiro whined disengaging his deck holder and Nicole doing the same while everyone began leaving for classes. All but Mizuki who took a look at the girl and then headed in.

After school Shiro, Mizuki, Snipes, Hagane, along with 3 others were heading out the school gates "She was really challenging me. I thought I was close to losing." Shiro said "*Sigh* Figures you would be close to losing." A girl that is 13 years old with blond hair with bangs and crystal blue eyes. Her name is Keigo Yamato.

"She sounds like she would be a real challenge." A 13 year old boy with red curtained hair and blue eyes and slightly taller than Shiro replied "Since you did not beat her I will swallow her whole the next time we see here." A 13 year old with light brown hair and eyes said. He is the Ex-Card Master Kazu Fuka.

While they were talking the sound of a thud was heard behind them. They all looked behind them and saw Nicole on top of Mizuki with her hand covering her eyes "Guess who?" Nicole said and Mizuki laughed "Nice to see you Nicolette." She said.

She let Mizuki up and they hugged "Umm…Mizuki? Who is she?" Keigo asked getting the black haired girls attention "Oh yes. I believe proper introductions are due." Mizuki said. Nicole gave a small bow "I am Nicolette Trace from Delta. I also happen to be Mizuki's cousin." She said and Kazu stepped forward.

"So you are the one who almost beat Shiro?" he asked with one fang showing and Nicole smirked "Yep." She said and Kazu brought out his Deck Holder "You will be an excellent meal. Lets duel." He said "Umm…Sure." She said taking out her Delta deck holder and then turned to Shiro "Is he always like this?" she asked and he just nodded.
