Yukiko's POV

"So in order to make good use of this month, I suggest that we should come up with a proper schedule." I sat down at my desk and took out a piece of paper to do a rough draft of this month's timetable.

"Yea, yea… We'll do it your way since you're the smart one." Shiro turned the chair in front of my desk around so that he could sit in front while facing me. He yawned a little and started fiddling with my pencil case. I glared at him and hit his hand with my pencil before returning to finish up the draft. "Ouch!" He withdrew his hand and yawned again. "This is so boring." He mumbled and I shook my head. The hope I had a few minutes ago had vanished into thin air as I tried my hardest to search for a little sign of motivation from Shiro. It was really impossible to think that I was having great confidence when I shook his hand just now. Right now, every pinch of hope had disappeared.

Shiro reached for my result slip, without my permission, and started to look at it. I resisted the urge to stop him as sooner or later, we would have to share our results with each other in order to find out how much work we have to put in. With an A grade for almost everything, I had no troubles letting people see my result slip. Well, maybe except for two segments like-

"Yuki! You suck at sports and music!" Shiro gasped in surprised and said it in a voice loud enough for almost the whole class to hear.

"Yuki? Why do you call her Yuki?" Haruna-san walked up to us and gave her boyfriend, Shiro a hug. Shiro gave Haruna-san a peck on her cheek and the girl blushed shyly. Shiro and Haruna-san were known as the couple perfect for each other. Well, I couldn't deny since both were more inclined in sports and totally sucked academic wise. Shiro excelled in every sport that exists in school and Haruna-san was the captain of the cheerleading team. Being really popular in school, it was no surprise when people discovered that these two were together. I ignored their public display of affection and continued writing the last few lines of the timetable.

"Shiirooooo-kun, answer me. Why do you call her Yuki?" Haruna-san shook Shiro lightly as she tried to get him to answer her question.

"Hey sugar, don't shake me like this. I'll have a headache." Shiro gently took Haruna-san's hand and kissed it. "She's my childhood friend. That's why."

"Childhood friend?!" Shiro's friends gathered around when they overheard his words.

"Yea. We know each other since grade school. Right, Yuki?"

"Stop calling me Yuki." I snapped at him, irritated with the commotion around my desk. "Here's a draft for our timetable." I slid the paper towards him and he took a look at it.

"Studying every day? Oh god. Shouldn't we have a break or two?" Shiro pouted. "Plus, you should have some form of training as well. Look, you almost failed your music and sports!" He poked lightly on my result slip, emphasizing on the two ugly grades printed.

"I just turned up only when it's necessary. It doesn't mean that I suck at it." I rebutted, looking at him coldly through my thick glasses.

"You can't win the snow queen, Shiro-kun." His friends laughed at him as they brought up my nickname. Yes, the snow queen. Although I was well-known for being one of the brainiest students in school, I was also known for being the coldest girl. The snow queen. I couldn't blame them for I was cold and found to be alone all the time. What made it worse was my name, Yukiko is also known as the child of snow. However, I was used to it so it didn't matter.

"No, no. This is unfair." Shiro shook his head before taking my eraser and pencil to make some changes in the timetable. "Here you go, this seems better."

I looked at the draft and noticed that he had put in a slot every morning for exercising and the weekend afternoons would be used for music. I sighed and gave him a small nod of agreement. It didn't matter much as long as Shiro had more time to pull his academic grades up. The guy gave me his victory grin but I refused to show him my defeat. However, someone was not too happy about our timetable. "What about me? Shiro-kun, you didn't put in any time for me this month." Haruna-san whined, hoping to be able to change Shiro's mind but it didn't seem to work. "I'm sorry Sugar cupcake. I really have to pull my grades up for those tickets. We'll hang out more after this month alright?" Haruna-san glared at me before nodding silently.

Still a little taken aback by Shiro's priorities (working hard for the tickets), I cleared my throat and told Haruna-san, "Look, I don't intend to steal your boyfriend. It's not like I want to hang out with him either. It's just for this month, he's all yours after that." I pushed up my glasses, which was sliding off again, as I gave Haruna-san a cold look.

"O-of course he's mine. He's always mine." The girl snapped back before walking away.

Totally unaffected by what had just taken place, Shiro looked at the timetable one more time before standing up. "So I'll see you at the park tomorrow at 7am? We'll be going for a morning run."

"Sure. You better not be late."

"I won't. I'm never late when it comes to exercising." Shiro grinned before walking away.

"Please let this month go well." I mumbled as I began to keep my things.

AN: I'm sorry if this chapter seems boring I have to get those really mundane stuffs aside first. I promise next chapter will be better
