Chapter 1: Oh Like the Salad?

It was a bright and early Sunday Morning in Greenville South Carolina. The birds were chirping and the day was altogether peaceful. But some certain things were not so peaceful in one college student's apartment room.

"Cameron I don't understand why you won't just take the class!" Marshall Mario exclaimed while crossing his arms and staring at his roommate. Marshall Mario was an Italian 19 year old, college student who had soft brown hair and shining blue eyes. He was good among the ladies because he didn't look that bad. He was bilangual which means that he could speak English and Italian. Meanly because he was born in Italy and he moved to the U.S at the age of two.

"I'm not Special Ed," Cameron Kesalawski shot back while not looking at him. Cameron was also 19 years old and he was in college studying to be a social worker. Cameron had dark brown eyes and dark brown hair that came down around his ears and it was longer then Marshall's. Cameron was also part Asian. Cameron and Marshall were best friends since 1st grade and then had been together ever since.

"I know you aren't Special Ed, it's just that you have dyslexia and maybe you need some help," Marshall informed while moving over to the kitchen in their apartment and getting something out of the fridge.

"You have dyslexia, dyslexia ohh noo. You're special. Oh look at this little idiot boy," Cameron snapped while pointing to himself and then sitting back down on the couch.

"You're not an idiot. You're amazing," Marshall reassured as he sat next to his friend and smiled. Cameron shrugged his shoulders and sighed. Suddenly their other roommate named Noah Diamond came in with a bag. Noah was quite tall and he was twenty years old. He has a nice sense of humor and he was fun to be around. He had a little hair on his chin that showed his manliness. He had brown hair as well as light brown eyes.

"Hey Noah," Marshall greeted.

"Hey boys what's up?" Noah responded with taking his shoes off. Cameron took the couch pillow off the couch and continued to groan. "What's wrong with it?" Noah asked while pointing to Cameron.

"I'M NOT AN IT!" Cameron whined while he was smothering his face with a pillow.

"Well Cameron was put in a Special Education class in college because of his dyslexia," Marshall informed with a weak smile.

"I just wish I didn't have dyslexia, I wish my parents weren't in jail and I wish my girlfriend was here," Cameron groaned.

"You're parents are in jail?" Noah exclaimed.

"Yeah where have you been?" Marshall questioned. Noah shrugged and then he looked at Cameron curiously for an answer.

"Well my parents killed my sister and a council woman and they abused me my whole childhood so yeah I can see why they are in jail," Cameron informed.

"Oh I had no idea, I'm so sorry Cameron," Noah apologized while patting his on the shoulder.

"I have to go to the library and do something text me Cameron okay?" Marshall replied while reaching for his shoes.

"Take your time Marshall. Cameron and I would never want to interrupt you while you're basket weaving your way through college," Noah joked.

"Screw you Noah," Marshall snapped and then grabbed his keys to leave his apartment building. Marshall closed his door behind him and he made his way towards the elevator. But there was talking inside of a door right next door to him.

"So Kate how's your love life?" asked a girl named Meredith Bell who had long brown hair that curled at the bottom. Meredith was wearing glasses that she usually only wears at home and she sat indian style while sitting next to her close friend Katelyn Matthews.

Katelyn has medium brown hair with a mix of blonde. Her hair was tied up in a messy, but yet stylish bun. "Well there is this guy I kind of like next door," Katelyn informed while giggling.

"Ohh do tell," Meredith responded while scooting closer getting more interested in the subject.

"Well his name is Marshall and he is really cute and he speaks Italian," Katelyn informed dreamily.

"You don't speak Italian," Meredith began with a straight look on her face.

"Ok...," Kate started.

"How can you communicate with a hot guy if you can't speak the language he speaks?" Meredith exclaimed.

"He speaks English too," Kate revealed with a ring in her voice.

"Well that solves the problem," said Meredith with a smile. She held a bowl of popcorn in her lap as she took pieces of it one by one. "You should ask him out..."

"I can't ask him out, he's so perfect and hot and I get all nervous when I speak to him. You remember Noah from grade school?" Kate questioned. Meredith nodded as she ate popcorn. "Well Noah lives with them and Noah knows I like him."

"Wait, them? It's three of them?" Meredith questioned.

"Well yeah it's Noah, Marshall and their other roommate Cameron. Cameron is super cute and very attractive, but he has a girlfriend who is a junior in high school," Katelyn informed.

"Oh, that's cool. I think I'd like to meet these guys," Meredith admitted.

"Let's go check," Katelyn decided and then walked out of her apartment with Meredith following close behind.

Marshall sat at a table in a library pulling some books out of his bag to put on the table. He also pulled out his laptop and started that up, and as he waited he tapped his foot and observed the room. There was some other people checking out books and some other people studying at some other tables. He soon set his eyes on his computer and started to do what he needed to do.

"Um Excuse me?" said a man at the side of the table. Marshall looked up and spotted a guy around his eyes with dark brown hair and brown eyes. He wore glasses and he was quite handsome. He had pretty eyes and he was Mexican. "M-M-May I sit here?" asked the guy as he touched the chair. Marshall nodded and chewed on his pencil without saying a word.

Marshall noticed he looked like he was kind of nervous. "You remind me of my little brother," Marshall informed in a whisper.

"If you're brother nice?" the guy asked.

"He's alright he just is quiet all the time and doesn't speak to people. He's really shy," Marshall informed.

"Well I'm kind of nervous about people. This is my first few days here. I don't know how people are," the guy revealed.

"Oh to the college?" Marshall questioned.

"No to this country. I'm a college exchange student from Spain," he admitted.

"Oh really that's quite interesting I was born in Europe," Marshall informed.

"Cool what country?" he asked getting more interested in the topic.

"Italy I moved here when I was two," Marshall replied.

"Oh that's really cool," he responded.

"Yeah, oh I'm Marshall by the way," Marshall informed while extended his hand.

"My name is César," César replied with a smile and shaking Marshall's hand.

"Oh like the salad?" Marshall asked with a smile.

"Yes like the salad," César responded while cracking a smile.
