A poem that I wrote for a friend and her husband who were murdered. It hurts not to get to say goodbye.

Drifting...
Slipping...
Falling fast...
These are all I remembered as I woke from the nightmare of my life.

Daydream...
Nightmares screaming...
Torn away from you...

Emptiness...
Was all that left...
When you went away...

Black Clouds...
Filled with silver tears...
A heart crying...
So wretchedly...
So many wasted years...
Too many fears to tell you I loved you...

Daydream...
Nightmares screaming...
Ripped away from you...

What is this hollow feeling?
This dark abyss that swallows my pride?

Have I truly fallen so deep?
So fast?
So hard?
That I have lost all that was left of wounded my pride?
I didn't even get to say good-bye...

Daydream...
Nightmares screaming...
Torn away from you...

Endless empty days and eternally haunted nights...
Are all that fill my time...
Without you...

Come back to me...
Oh please God...
Why did you leave?
Is all I want to scream...

Daydream...
Nightmares screaming...
Tearing me apart...
Ripping into my heart...
as I'm torn away...
from you.
