THE OTHER SIDE OF THE HILL
The life of a girl who was a dreamer
Prologue: As it should beAs a child I loved fairy tales, myths, legends and fables of any kind. I loved George MacDonald, C.S. Lewis, Frank L. Baum, and Lewis Carroll. See a pattern? Yes. All of them have to do with a magical world-one that is linked to our world, you step through the enchanted wardrobe and you are in a magical world in which you are Queen. The friend of the Princess. Something like that. But the true pattern is escaping. Escaping from a dull and ordinary life. Of course, I didn't really understand that, not then. Not really until now, just now, when my life is slipping out of control and I really wish that I could go back to the life I hated so much. That's normal, I think; and yet, that doesn't seem to be as much a comfort as it should be.
