When I Grow Up

When I grow up I want to be a postman.

I'll deliver letters every day,

And people will come to me and say,

"Miss Postman, what've you got for me?"

And I'll say, "I've got a parcel for you, Madame."

Oh! How wonderful to be a postman.

When I grow up I want to be the President.

I'll shake hands and plant trees,

And make long speeches at grand ceremonies!

When I pass, people will say, "How do you do?"

And I will nod and smile at them.

Oh, I long to be the president.

When I grow up I want to be a scientist.

I'll wear a white lab coat and huge safety goggles,

And I'll make big explosions in labs full of chemicals.

I'll discover the cure for cancer, and everyone will say,

"She's wonderful, she is, that Miss Scientist."

Oh, it'd be great to be a scientist!

But most of all I want to be a mummy.

Because I love my mummy and I want to be just like her.

I'll never never shout, or lose my temper.

And my children will say, "I love you mummy.

You're the best mum in the world!"

I'd just love to be a mummy!
