I have strange ideas.
Not apologizing.

You can tell the difference
Between my parents in
The kind of soap they use
For one it's a simple soap
Grapefruit, it says
-green tea, Shea butter-
Not special, there to kill germs
And the other is foam
Aloe Vera and vitamin B
Raspberry, sun-ripened
So you keep sniffing your hands for
Days and weeks and months after
And there's the difference between
Simplicity, ready to live and let live
And the other extravagant
And rather unnecessary
Like the foaming soap on my hands
As I wash up for dinner
And think about life
And the stars
-the soap splatters across the countertop
I smile at the excess and laugh
For it is needless to have so much foam
And yet there is and
I always chose that soap over the other-
