Chapter 10

"Shhh, Shhh, Its alright, she's alright," Jacks voice streams in though my head. He's carried me out of the plane and back outside probably so I can't run back to Jessica.

" She's…. Obviously…. Not… Okay…." I say through sobs.

" Lily had to pop her bone back into place, that's why she was screaming," Jack explains to me calmly. He's rocking me back and forth slowly in his lap, running his fingers through my hair.

" Don't worry, I don't think Max is ever going to leave her side again." Jack chuckled.

"Okay…" I wiped the tears from my face, breathing more normally now.

" Come on, let's go to bed now," He whispered in my ear.

"Uh huh" Jack held out his hand, which I took of course. Then lead me to the sleeping dorm.

"Thank you," I whispered.

" I'd do anything for you…" Jack replied. Tucking me into bed, and kissing my head lightly before going to his normal seat bed. As I fell asleep, I thought about how lucky I was to have Jack in my life. But I never would have met him unless the crash had happened. Would I chose to go through the crash if I knew I'd get Jack, I dunno…

" I GOT IT! I GOT IT!" Chis the little 12-year-old computer dude was yelling and running around everywhere. I blinked my eyes groggily.

"What?" asked Jhon? Yeah it was Jhon; all of us were now awake and peering at Chris hoping for some good news.

" I need two more days and I think I can get the Internet working." Just as Chris said this, I huge bang and the sound of thrashing was coming from the other aisles.

The noise was getting louder and closer. Immediately Jhon sprang into action.

"Everyone out of here, take the kids and GO! Jack, and Zack stay with me, Max take Jessica" Jhon barks out orders, His face was hard but his eyes looked so scared. At once everyone was running.

" I'll see you later, you should go!" Jack kissed me lightly then pushed towards the crazy crowds. I searched for Lola and Sam, Finding them and carrying Lola, and pulling Sam behind me. We all ran out of the plane, then stopped unsure of where to go.

"Follow me!" I scream, I knew a small cave where we could go; I'd found it when Jack and I were hunting. We all run, till we reach the cave, where we collapse in exhaustion.

" How will Jhon know where we are?" Nick asked.

" I have no idea!" Lily snapped she was trying to tend to three crying children.

"Ashley!" Sam tugged my arm, to sit down, but I was too jumpy. Were Jack and Jhon going to be okay, from the look on Jhon's face… I think it was the animal that killed the adults.

" I think, I should go get them," Max said while putting down Jessica next to me.

" Okay, go," Jeanne, said pointing to entrance to the cave.

He kissed Jessica's head then promptly left the cave. I flung my arms around Jessica pulling her into a hug.

" How are you?" I asked.

" I guess I'm okay, but I don't think I'm going to be running any time soon." She smiled at me while saying the last part. I giggled, knowing she wanted me to smile, and stop worrying. But of course I was still worrying.

" Jessica, how you do?" Lola asked, pointing to Jessie's foot, with her chubby baby hands.

" I think I was sleep walking, because the next thing I knew I was tripping and falling." Jessica shrugged like it was no biggie. IT was totally a biggie; I peered at her concern etched on my face.

" Ashley stop, I'm fine, seriously!" Jessica moaned.

" Okay, okay!" I smiled and added, " I guess the good part about this is Max is going to carry you everywhere." I wiggled my eyebrows at her.

" HAH! Says the girl Jack carried like 10 times!" Jessica exclaimed. I just laughed and flicked her arm.

" See you don't have a comeback!" Jessie laughed.

" I do so, I just didn't want to make the cripple feel bad," I teased. Jessica slapped my arm, and made a face.

Finally Jhon stumbled into the room, Jack and Zack following him.

" Its… The animals that killed the adults… They're in the plane we can't go back yet," Jhon announced, shaking a little, this was one of the only times I'd seen Jhon scared. I got up to hug Jhon; he looked so scared I couldn't bear it. These animals must be really scary. Then I hugged Jack making sure he was ok.

" They're like nothing I've ever seen before." He trembled from under my arms.

"What I don't get a hug?" Zack said.

"Nope!" Jack said firmly. I just awkwardly just stood there as the guys stared each other down. Eventually I crept away and went back to Jessica.

" That was so awkward!" She exclaimed.

" You're telling me!" I replied.

" Zack totally has a crush on you" She sang, just as Jack sat down. His face was unreadable but his jaw was set. He placed at arm around me giving out a protective vibe.

" No…" I replied, dumb struck by the awkwardness of the situation.

" I guess not…" Jessica trailed off, not meeting either Jack or my eyes.

"No, he does… Stay away from him Ashley, for me?" Jack surprised both of us by saying that.

"I'm not going to ignore him, but I'm not going to lead him on either…" I replied, scooting closer to Jack, " Plus I have you anyway, why would I need him!" I say. Jack frowns but quirks his lips into a half smile that only guys seem to be able to pull off. At like the worst time ever, Zack comes over and sits on the other side of me.

"Hey guys, was sup?" He said.

" Nothing much," Jessica said sparing me from embarrassment.

" Ashley, I wanted to show you something," Zack said.

" What is it?" I ask suspiciously.

" Surprise!" He grinned at me. I looked at Jack asking for permission with my eyes.

" Can I come too?" Jack asked his eyes looked angry.

" Sure…" Zack replied his smile fading just a little, but enough for Jack to notice. His jaw hardened and slung an arm around me possessive way. We started following Zack to a back pack in the corner.

" Chill!" I hissed at Jack, He frowned but forced in a fake smile pointed in my direction. I nodded and smiled agreeing to his smile.

"JACK! Get over here!" Jhon said beckoning Jack over. Reluctantly he put his arm down and walked away.

"Ashley, come here," Zack called me.

" Yes?" I asked.

" Lets go outside," Zack said, grabbing my hand. When we got outside I slipped my hand out of his in an unobvious way.

"So?" I asked expectantly. Zack just stares at me for a few seconds.

"Oh, yeah…" He reaches into the backpack and starts looking for something. " I wanted to give you this" he handed me my IPOD! " Jessica gave it to me and I charged it for you, I hope you don't mind." Zack blushed.

"OMGEEEEE! MY IPOD!" I started jumping up and down and doing silly happy dances. Zack joins me and starts dancing too, he's a really good dancer doing all these cool flips and tricks. Then he pulls me into him and is twirling me around. I was totally lost in the moment just dancing to my happiness, I didn't realize what I was doing till its to late.

"Ashley?" Jack breathes.

" Jack OMG Zack got my IPod for me!" I scream running away from Zack and into Jacks arms. He twirls me around and kisses me full on the lips. His arms are holding me up to his height. When I pull away Zack's gone.

"Dance with me?" I ask holding out an ear bud. He smirks and pops it in his ear; I put the other one in mine. The headphones forced us to stand close to each other. I pick my favorite song Sexy and I know it, and start going crazy with the music. But jack has other plans, he pulls me closer and kisses my cheek, I sink into his arms, tangling my hands into his amazing curly hair. Right before I swear he was going to kiss me he whispers. "I'm sexy and you know it!" I laughed.

" And vice versa!" I added. Jack smiled at me and we walked back into the cave holding hands.

" We need to know if the canavar are still in the plane, I don't think we can sleep in a cave with all these little kids." Jhon was telling Jessica, Max, Jack, Zack and I. Canavar was our name for the scary animals that kept attacking us.

" I'll go!" I volunteered. " I know this forest pretty well and I'm fast and light on my feet.

" I'll come too," Zack said.

" Me too!" Jack added.

" We only need two people to go, Ashley and Zack since you were the first two to volunteer." Jhon said, and his word around here was pretty much law. " You will leave in half and hour, I'll get you some weapons for protection. The crowd disbursed, I took one look at Jacks face and headed over to Jhon.

" Can Jack come with me instead?" I asked.

" I'll think about it…" Jhon answered then turned back to Jeanne and a crying baby.
