"Seriously, Emily, this isn't going to work."

His words pierced through me, they were harsh and cold. I could barely breathe.

"Please, I don't want to lose you." I was begging now, and I knew it, but I couldn't risk not having him in my life.

"Nothing lasts forever." His eyes were solemn as he spoke, but for a moment I saw a flicker of sadness. This wasn't like him.

Jerking his head away he began to walk, slowly and steadily, away from me.

I understood why he did this; I had hurt him to many times. But I was desperate.

I whispered low into the wind.

"Be my nothing."
