I had an assignment

So I took it home

But you really should know that

I can't write a poem

My thoughts become jumbled

I just can't think straight

And then my poor poem

Just isn't that great

I try and I try

But to no avail

All of my poems

Just seem to fail

But finally I realized

It's not always true

To write a good poem

It's heart must be you
