There's A Friend For Everyone
Once in a land far from here, there lived an elf named Jinx. Jinx was different from every other elf in the village because she liked different things. All the elves in the village loved the same thing, but she liked different things. One of the things that she liked was flowers, but every elf her age liked dancing. She was always alone because of this fact.
One day, while helping her mother in the kitchen, a thought popped in her head. Why doesn't she look for a friend; that was a great idea! She looked up at her mother, smiling, "Mother, can I go outside now?"
Her mother smiled, "Be back by sunset." With that, Jinx went off, in search for a friend.
The first place she'd decided to look was the fields. There were lots of elves in the field, so there had to be a person who wanted to be her friend. The grass tickled her as she walked through it, glancing at every elf in site. However, as they stared, she was wondering why they were staring at her with a mean glances. She gulped, sitting next to one elf.
She snarled at Jinx, "Why are you here?"
Jinx's eyes saddened, "I just want to sit here…"
"Well don't, you don't like the things we do, so go away!"
Jinx stood, walking away. She sighed, "No friend there."
The next place she thought about was the Town's Centre. Lots of elves were there, so she should be able to find a friend. However, as she entered the Centre, she got the same reactions as she did from the fields. This made her run towards the flowers, crying in sadness. Was there no friend for Jinx?
As she cried, she failed to notice another elf staring at her. He tilted his head to one side, questioning, "Hey, why are you crying?"
Jinx looked up, seeing the new elf. She sighed, "No one wants to be my friend…"
He sat next to her, "Really? I want to be your friend, you seem nice…"
"Don't you want to go and friends with the other people in town?"
He shook his head, "I talked to them, and they all seem the same. But you seem different, and it's good to be different."
She looked at the elf, "Really?"
He nodded, "Yep. That way, people cans see you for what you actually are!" He held out a hand, "I'm Vee! You?"
She stood, smiling, "I'm Jinx!"
For the rest of the day, they spent it in the flowers. The played and they played, and pretty soon, it was time to go home. They said their goodbyes, and went to their homes. Jinx couldn't help but smile; she had finally made a friend.
As she walked home, she realised something. Everyone was different, and it was better to be so. That way, you are yourself rather than a different person.
