Trees are Meant to Fly

Trees are meant to fly, but have forgotten how to start

They've dug their roots down deep to keep from falling apart

They hold onto their sorrows, they hold onto their pride

They know they're made for something more, but have no idea why

So they keep on living normal lives, the roots just growing deeper

They slowly lose their love of life, their faith just growing meeker

For years they've held their grudges, holding tight onto their pain,

Their branches always reaching out for something more to gain

Too tired of holding on and reaching, one day they just ask, "Why?"

And they hear a voice from up above say, "Because you were meant to fly!"

They look up to the clouds to see their savior shining bright

He helps them free their roots with love and brings them to the light
