The Voices

This wasn't your ordinary church. It was a church full of secrets...

Lucy was 13, with long slightly darker than blonde hair, and blue eyes. She really liked reading books, because she found them so intense and grabbing. She read a book every night, because of this, some of the people at school would call her nerdy or big brains. She would reply with some witty comment like "Well at least I will have more qualifications in GCSE English than you! The strange thing was, Lucy was a normal child from a normal family! Or was she really...?

Lucy was strolling down the high streets through the chaotic bustle of the last minute Christmas shoppers. She passed a noticeboard, taking a quick glance, and continuing. She stepped back to look at this noticeboard, there were all the usual notices about the bake sales, and the deals at the pharmacist, but on the right hand side, there was a faded green poster mixed in with the rust from the ballistic weather... She tried to make out what it said. It read: 'Church services held here, every...' And then the rust took over again. Lucy was intrigued to know more about this church. Then she noticed a little line of text at the bottom of the green piece of card, it read Avory Church, Avory Lane. Lucy lived on Avory lane, but had never spotted a church nearby... Lucy went to bed that night feeling rather edgy.
