A small collection of haikus I wrote on people, things, and events that have made me who I am now. A bit dark, so read at your own risk, please.

Stepping Stones Haikus

Cousins:

Room filled with people
Trying to talk but white noise
Nobody listens

Sollux:

Reaches out broken
I take his hands to heal him
He heals me as well

Parents Part I:

Voices rise unwanted
Stays away from argument
Try stay on the side

Parents Part II:

Mum pushes forward
Despite pain away from siblings
Barely sees them now

Parents Part III:

Dad overprotects
Not knowing how to be
An American

Parents Part IV:

They try to be good people
They just do not know how to fix without
Pulling in others too

Siddhartha:

He understands the pain
He heals people through forgiving
Teaching pacifism

Friends:

We are all different
Nevertheless, we can help each other
Through support and laughs

Girl Scout:

"Be prepared" is motto
I learn that lesson and leading
Others without hurt

Media Part I:

I see many things

By sitting and listening

To their stories

Little Brother:

"I really hate you!"
Words spoken in hateful way
"Love you too, kiddo!"

Homestuck:

*SBURB, Matespriteship,
Doug looks at me with a question
"What the heck is that?"

Funerals:

Many stares at the coffin
Wondering what could have happened
If I had done something else

Piano Teacher:

Happy smiles and black keys
I throw tantrums at the first lesson
She just smiles and teaches

Vriska:

I was too stupid back in sixth grade
Thinking stalking someone on the internet
Provides immunity to heartbreak

:

I read the stories quickly
Learn how to avoid **OOCness
Replacing with expression

Typing:

I type my words hurriedly
Letting the words flow onto the page
Stuck in a happy place

Teachers:

Some just drone on with the boring
While some will actually reach out to teach
Important things in life that stick

Writing:

I let the words flow
Weaving, dancing, and twirling
Filling the blank page

Reading:

The words take me to places
Castles, islands, arenas, and dungeons
Away from reality

*SBURB is an important game in Homestuck and Matespriteship is the name for the lover's type of the four complicated relationships in there.

**OOC is a term meaning out-of-character. The translation? When the character/person do not seem like themself. I think OOCness counts as four or three syllables.
