My dreams are mostly nightmares

That fill my silly head

They are there whilst I'm awake

And they're there whilst I'm in bed

I cannot stop this dreaming

Help me so, I've tried

They continue despite my efforts

They continue to bleed me dry

Of every thought I ever thought

That was subject to a horrific taunt

Of people on those sunburnt lawns

Calling me names that hurt my heart

Names, oh names, oh silly names

I care not now what they were

But my head has been left in the past

And names are all it hears

Forget is what I wish to do

Forget those horrid thoughts

But life carries on and so does the past

Despite its passing ought's

This path is one I follow

And continue to follow still

I cannot stray, I have tried

But I am held against my will

I must follow on

No matter where it creeps

But I have a feeling I know

It ends in eternal sleep

But when I am asleep

Or awake and in my bed

It tends to be only nightmares

That fill my silly head.
