I sit on the floor,

Picking at the pieces of my broken heart,

Looking out the window through faded glass,

You come along, appearing from the shadows,

I look at you, watching as you sit across from me,

You give a faint smile, reaching for my shattered heart,

Gingerly gathering every tiny shard, mending it and making it look like new,

I notice a missing piece, you notice it too,

Before reaching into your chest,

Removing a small piece of your own heart,

Slowly putting it into mine, becoming part of me,

Smiling as you put my heart back in its proper place,

Pressing a tender kiss to my lips,

Breathing your soul into me, as we become one.
