Ode to Titles

.

You are so often ignored,

People take you for granted.

But without you in the world

Life would be very different.

.

You are the personality and existence

Of a person, business, or story

All wrapped into one or a few minuscule words.

.

Every time someone hears you,

You become a window into our being.

A small glimpse of the person

But it gives others the general idea.

.

You come in several forms.

In black symbols, loops or lines.

Articulated in syllables, many or few.

You dance across our tongue

Whenever we speak.

.

When you are announced,

You are like the "Once Upon A Time" of a story,

An introduction to a relationship.
