Angel is getting ready for his first day as a sophomore at Eastwood High.
He wants to look perfect because he actually has a friend. His mom was ecstatic when Lucas and him became friends. Angel never had friends since he moved around and also cause kids thought he was stupid because he had a Spanish accent. He then decided to focus on school because all the places where he used to live were places where people made him feel like shit.
He remembers walking from school and seeing people surround him. They would beat him up until he couldn't even cry anymore. He'd come home beaten and bruised. He remembers just locking himself in his room and never coming out for days.
When puberty hit he was the sexiest guy at the school (according to all the girls). He had then came out to the world as gay and the tormenting got worse. People knew they'd lose against him in a fight but verbally they did win.
Angel was happy when he moved to Eastwood. His mom got a promotion and was transferred here. He has yet to tell Lucaas about his sexuality because he finally has a friend. Something he thought he'd never have.
The thought of him being lonely makes him a little depressed. So he throws on a gray tribal print tank top, pink skinnies and brown studded boots. He grabs his bag off his bed and heads to Lucas' house.
He enters the boy's home and greets Lucas' mother.
"Good Morning Angel. Are you hungry?"
"Morning to you too and no I just ate," he replied.
"Alright sweetie, Lucaas is up in his room," and with that he was heading up to the boy's room.
"Hey Luke," Angel says as he walks in on a shirtless Lucas.
"Oh, hey. My friend Lucy is coming with us, if you don't mind," Luke says putting his long black boots on. He was fixing the laces and the straps. Lucy bought them these shoes and he finally had found the right outfit for them. White corduroy skinnies and a baby blue button down with rolled up sleeves.
"That's fine," Angel says admiring the handsome boy in front of him. There was no denying that Luke was really sexy without really trying. Instead of staring at Luke he decided to distract himself by playing Ruzzle on his phone and singing along to the music that Luke was playing.
"LUKEEEEEEEE!" shriek from outside the room door. The door busts open and in walks the one and only Lucy Fitzgerald.
"Hey bitch, you scared the living fucks out of me," Luke says giving his old friend a hug. They haven't seen eachother all summer because she was dragged to Canada with her whole entire family on a trip.
"This is my new friend and neighbor, Angel," Luke introduced Lucy.
"Hi! I'm Lucille Fitzgerald but you can call me Lucy, she said.
"Angel Gonzalez, nice to meet you."
"Nice to meet you," she said flirtatiously. It wasn't the first time a girl hit on Angel without knowing that he was gay.
Angel took a good look at Lucy. She was 5 foot 5, had long dark wavy hair with red highlights that blended just perfectly. She had big brown eyes and beautiful light skin. Lucy was wearing high-waisted shorts with a tank top neatly tucked in the shorts and a cute little jean jacket. What Angel noticed was that she was wearing 8 inch heels making her about his height.
The three were walking to school. Angel was surprise to find himself quite the conversationalist. Lucy was happy that Lucas actually had a real friend, other than her, to talk to instead of those ex-girlfriends he calls "friends".
Truth is, Lucy is that girl who is friends with everybody. She has people she talks to, but she never really had someone she can call her bestfriend. People were usually intimidated by her large personality and her loud voice but people loved her for that. Her mother has recently passed away while driving drunk. Now it was just her and her father. Lucy hasn't really had anyone to cry to so she hopes to confide in Luke later on.
"You and Angel are my new best friends from now on," she says xcitedly. The boys just agree to that. They know it will be good to have a female with them.
"Hey you guys!" the three heard from behind them. Luke turns around and sees Eiric running towards them. "I'm Eiric Cavanaugh and you guys are..'
'Lucy.'
"Angel."
"They are my new friends. Well I already knew Lucy," Luke agitatedly spoke.
"Well add another to the list cause I missed your ass," Eiric says.
"What?"
"We were best friends. Then I got all 'popular'. I mean I still new your every move but I missed the good times. So this year I'm all yours," he explained.
The four of them walked the rest of the way talking about their summer and how boring it really all was.
The four of them meet up at lunch and find a permanent table to meet eachother at everyday. They were basically doing what everyone else was doing, getting to know one another. They realized they have four classes together: Chemistry, English Honors, Geometry and Art 1. Luke and Angel had Gym together. Angel and Lucy had Spanish Level 3 together. And Luke and Eiric had Modern U.S. History together..
As weeks go by they were inseparable. Everyone knew that the four of them were best friends.
It's Saturday after thanksgivings and the all met up at Lucy's backyard to chill in the soon to be freezing cold weather.
"Hey you guys wanna go somewhere?" she asks.
"Where?," Eiric asks while getting up off thee grass. Lucy points to the mountains. They all get up and prepare to head to the mountains.
Chasing each other like a bunch of wolves in the wild. Just being free and following their instincts. They released all those bad memories and focused on now.
They finally reach the sitting destination Lucy brought them to. They could see the whole town and the city from where they were. It was beautiful and looked almost like a painting from a museum.
"The is where I come to clear my head," Lucy spoke trying to catch her breath, "After my mother died, ran up here and soon it became constant," she was staring at the view with depression and confusion in her eyes. "I wanted to share this with you guys cause I know you all have gone through a lot."
They sat there for three hours laughing and crying together. Like real friends do. They each had problems that made them who they were. Eiric's parents were both in prison for life. Angel was bullied brutally. Lucy and the death of her mother. Luke having parents that didn't support anything he did because it was against the bible. They all understood each other. At this point they really truly love each other and it felt like a second family.
On the way back to town they heard noises. Luke steps on a sign the reads 'DO NOT TRESPASS THIS AREA – DANGER!'
"Umm… Lucy did you ever notice this sign here?," he asked.
"Yeah, but it disappeared one day and I started coming back up here alone. Nothing has ever happened," she wasn't worried at all. "It's still early. The sun don't set for another two hours."
They start to see shadows so they start to run, accidentally splitting up. They lost each other in the woods. Fog is settling down on the forest and the shadows become far more clear.
Angel and Lucy are running as fast as they could. They start to hold hands until the trip over a large tree branch. Angel gets up to see if Lucy is okay. When they start to get up again, they see a large black creature with glowing red eyes. It was hairy all over and had claws that looked like five swords.
The beast grabs Angel and scratches the side of Angel's stomach. The beast tosses Angel away against a tree and Angel passes out. Lucy tries to run but the beast grabs her and scratches her back. She screams in pain. The beast throws her against a tree as well then disappears into the fog. Lucy was attempting to move but the blood loss was too much and she passed out.
Another beast is behind Eiric. The beast attempts to snatch on to Eiric numerous times but just leaves little scratches. The beast finally scratches the boy's back making him cry out in pain and collapse over. The beast picks up the boys and gives him one more scratch before he drops the boy against a hard rock making the boy pass out.
Lucas already has numerous scratches. He is starting to familiarize the way back to society. He figures that he is halfway there and somehow needs to get this beast off his back. He keeps running but a large scratch on his back is making him slower. The loss of blood is too much. Last thing he sees are bright green eyes and red long hair and….. and…..
