Hello everyone~! This is my first ever Fiction Press story so I'm kinda nervous. Just to let ya'll know this story will have multiple chapters and will be updated every week on Sunday and each chapter should be over a thousand words...unless I find a REALLY good cliffhanger... This is going to be be rated T but it might be raised to an M just depends on how inventive I get... But it would only be raised for violence. I don't do smut, or lemon, or whatever you crazy people are doing lately ;) Lol Jk, I hope you guys and gals enjoy~!

"What room are we again?" I ask, turning to my best friend Marissa as we walked with the rest of the Color Guard (Which only consisted of four people altogether) to our recently acquired hotel room. Marissa shrugs at me and looks questioningly to our unofficial 'coach' Carissa, who was actually a member of the Guard herself. Carissa notices her stare and stops her conversation with the only boy in the Guard, Christopher, and laughs.

"You guys have already forgotten? Seriously? How are you guys gonna get to to the rooms without us?" She smiles at Marissa's pout and my own mock glare and adds cheerfully, "Aren't you both a little young for Alzheimer's?"

"Hey! We didn't even need a stupid hotel room in the first place! Marissa and I both live, like, five minutes from here!" I yell back in an attempt to defend myself and Marissa, only realizing a second later I just alerted everyone in the lobby to conversation. I mentally curl into a ball as I turn and smile to the rest of the band, 'I'm not crazy, not crazy at all, just a random chick complaining about free hotel rooms, nope, not crazy...'. Lucky for me everyone looks away after a minute and I turn to Carissa and narrow my eyes.

Her eyes widen and she raises her arms in a mock surrender and then collapses into a fit of laughter with Marissa and Christopher, which were kneeling on the floor from laughing so hard.

I growl under my breath and continue my march to the elevator, determined to get away from them even if I didn't know where I was supposed to go. Marissa notices me and quickly jumps up to catch up with me, she knows I'll leave them all. She nudges me in the ribs and says to me "I ever tell you 'bout the time me and my buddy Keith were tryin'-" I grin and interrupt with, "Is now the best time Ellis?"

We began to giggle and then stop walking as we finally reach the elevators. I push the button and then turn around to find Christopher and Carissa right behind me. I jump and press myself in the wall next to the elevator before I realize what just happened. I look to Marissa and find her in the same position and begin to laugh. Marissa scowls at Carissa's smirk before reprimanding her fiercely because, "You know how skittish we are!" I shake my head and look up as the elevator 'pings' and the doors open.

"Everyone in!" I call as I walk inside the moving metal death trap. I try to feign confidence but my voice falters slightly as the elevator shifts when the rest of the Guard piles in. Marissa shoots me a worried look and I shift my duffel bag off my shoulder and press back into the corner of the elevator. I try to smile reassuringly at her but I have a feeling it came out more like a grimace. Carissa presses the button and the elevator doors close. I take a deep breath.

Christopher drops his duffel to the floor and lets out a groan, "Ugh, I don't know how you guys carry these stupid things, there so heavy!" He puts a hand to his forehead and swoons dramatically, "I'm afraid I might faint!" Marissa snorts and Carissa rolls her eyes.

"Of course, Princess Chrissy" I try to say sarcastically but it comes out rather choked. Carissa looks to me and asks, "Are you okay?" I nod to her and begin to bite my lip.

'Can't this stupid thing be done ye-' I begin to think wen the elevator finally stops.

"Thank God!" I yell exuberantly, finally regaining excitement. I grab my bag and look up expecting to see a beautiful concrete lined and supported hallway but all I see is the cold metal doors of the elevator doors. "Wait...why aren't they open?" I look to Marissa feeling like I was about to cry.

She looks at me and shares a look with Carissa, "Carissa?"

"Maybe it's stuck?"

"Or the power's out.."

"Or maybe-"

"Or maybe we're all about to drop to our deaths!" I yell over their conversation. I could fee every shift in the elevator and I sink to the floor slowly as I feel my chest begin to tighten. I look up to Marissa and try to tell her but I'm beginning to pant and I can just feel the sway of the elevator and it won't stop-

And suddenly the elevator lurches downwards and we all begin to scream as it begins to tilt to the side and we and all three crash in the wall beside me and then just as quickly, it stops. I end up banging my head and I blink away the pain.

"Maru?" I call and look to her as she blinks and shakes her head. 'Guess she hit her head too...better check for a concussion...' "Yeah?"

"Did that really just happen?"

"Yeah, I-I think so.."

I survey the angle at which the elevator was tilted and determine that it was safe to move. I untangle myself from Marissa and crawl over to the over side.

Carissa and Christopher groan and squirm beside Marissa until they finally untangle themselves as well. Christopher scoots next to me and hangs his head. I rub his back in attempt to comfort him and turn to Carissa, "Now what?" I ask quietly, still quite shocked at what just happened.

Carissa looks up to the control panel and tries to press the emergency button but nothing happens. "One of the power lines must have snapped" She says despondently and slumps into 'her' corner of the elevator.

"Anybody have cell service?" Marissa asks and I instantly whip out my phone only to discover that I didn't. "Nope.." I reply, about ready to cry, and look at Carissa who shakes her head in a negative.

"Well shit..." Carissa starts, "Mr. Barnes has my medicine!" She sighs, and rubs her face.

My eyes widen and I push myself further against the elevator wall, "You're sick?! With what?! Is it that weird new flu!?" I grab Marissa's arm and drag her to my side of the elevator.

Carissa glares and snaps, "Yeah, but it's not contagious so chill!"

"They don't even know how to treat it Carissa! How do you know what that they know for sure that it's not contagious!"

I had heard a lot about this new flu that was spreading around every where...but people didn't really talk about it at all on the news. All I heard was rumors, like how people who were infected were sent to government facility's and were 'studied'. Infected were never-

I shook my head and tried to ignore all the conspiracy's I had heard.

"I don't Jessica! But that's not what we need to worry about! We need to get out of here!"

Wow...I hated the ending but...Yeah...

;(
