Chapter 1:
The last place on earth he wanted to be was on a plane filled with
strangers. All by himself alone. Jason knew that the flight was only
11 hours, but those were 11 hours this 16 year old will never forget.
JFK to BER. Jason had to visit his family all the way in Germany. He
was definitely looking forward to the beautiful air the wonderful
people and how can anyone forget the landscapes! This was going to be
a great trip. But then Jason thought many horrible thoughts. What if
the plane crashes! What if i get on the wrong flight! What if I was
the only one? Thoughts flooded through his mind. His sister was trying
to help him out by saying things like,
"Why are you so worried! Mama, (which is what they called their
"grandmother") will be right there for you! as soon as you land! with
Papi to!"
Jason pretended like this was helping him. He nodded and reluctantly
dragged his feet up the stairs and into his room. He saw the suitcases
is Mom set out on his bed. He looked at his watch and it was already
10:30pm. Jason knew he had to get some sleep before he could be ready
to go to the airport at 8:30am. Jason made a quick appearance in his
parents room to say goodnight and left.
"Wake up world traveler!" Jason thought these voices were in his
head. Put when his eyes appeared like two cuts he say his Dad and his
head hung over Jason. "Come on Jason lets go! you need to get to the
airport!"
Jason rolled over to his stomach side and slide off the bed. He
peaked over at the clock and it was 7:00am. He watched as the red
lights blink on and off. This made him want to curl up and fall asleep
again.
He walked down to the kitchen and he saw his sister at the stove
making breakfast for him.
"Thanks Erin..." Jason went and sat at the table and looked over at
the door and saw that hi Mom had already laid out all the bags for
him. Jason took a deep breath and put his plate in the sink. He went
up to his room to pack up his carry on bag. He put out his laptop,
ipod, headphones, passport, ticket, wallet and a picture of his
girlfriend. He touched her face on the picture and slid it in the
pack. He walked over to his dresser and took his phone out of a
drawer. He dialed her number.
"Hey can i meet you at Dunkin Donuts?"
"Dad I'm going to Chrissy's house. I will be back in half an hour."
Jason said as he grabbed the keys off the table. He hopped into his
red mustang he got for his birthday. He pulled up into Dunkin Donuts
and he saw Chrissy's white toyota in the parking lot. He walked into
the shop with his blue plaid shirt under his black unzipped hoodie. He
saw her sitting in a booth with her favorite coffee light with milk
and sugar. He smiled.
"I know you probably think I'm a woos but im really scared."Jason
said as he sat in the seat across from her. "I had so many horrible
dreams about the plane. And i haven't been away from you in years. I
know im going to miss you."
"Don't worry babe!" She said as she wrapped her hands around him. He
slid his hand to her hips and planted a gentle kiss on her.
"Im just afraid something will happen to me and I won't ever see you again."
"I will always be with you!"
"Thanks babe, ok i got to go now. I love you." He said and got up.
Chrissy got up aswell and they kissed once again. He walked out into
his car and drove off. pulling into his driveway made him feel sad, he
slugged into the house.
"Lets go bud!" His Dad said and they went into his car.
"By Baby! Mwah mwah!" His mother said as she blew kisses into the air. Erin walked out of the house with a tear in her eye. She walked
toward him and she put her hand out. Jason looked down and smiled.
They did a handshake that they had been doing since Jason learned to walk, and Jason felt a tear come off Erin's face and land on his hand.
"By sis." He kissed her forehead and got into the car with his Dad.
Jason was in a really bad mood. He was excited to go to germany, but
after he saw Chrissy it made him rather sad.
"Alright son, this is where you are on your own." His dad said. as
they approached the metal detector in the security zone. Jason walked
threw the security line and waved goodbye to his father. He saw his
dad tearing up a little bit and this made him upset. He slugged his
way into the gate area and he saw something that made his day.
