The Unexplainable
CHAPTER 1
I crashed onto the cement ground out of breath and energy as my legs could no longer hold my weight. They felt as if no bones or muscles even existed inside of them. I had been running for miles upon miles without even a second to pull myself together. The heavy rain may fit the scene but it did not help with my situation not one bit.
I had to escape no matter what it took. This little town I called home was now nothing but a hell hole that I can not continue to stay in. I heard a familiar noise getting closer and I struggled to get back on my feet but it was as if I had no legs. Was this the end for me? No... I REFUSE to give up that easily. I hoisted myself up on my elbows and then on my hands and dragged my limp lower half with all the energy my determination was giving me.
I continued to drag myself until I reached an open garbage bin. Reaching up, I grabbed the edge of the bin lifting myself up with my best strength. The wet bin caused my hands to slip and so I fell with my arms inside the bin and the rest of my body outside of it. The rusty edge digging into my sore armpits. I don't think I can get myself inside.
The noise came even closer and from the edge of my eye I could see a shadow growing larger on the wall of a nearby apartment. My heart raced against my chest as I began to panic. I leaned more towards the inside of the bin hoping I would just slip in. It began to work. My limp body began to slip into the only thing that could save my life. With one last pull using the rest of my energy, I fell inside. I remained silent as I heard the terrible creature breathing heavily and giving off a growl that was far from any animal's that I've listened to. It slithered right past my hiding spot, giving off a scent that was worse than a rotting corpse. I held my breath and kept my eyes shut. Then... It stopped. I could hear its breathing but it remained in the same spot. The noise not becoming distant anymore. Instead... It started to come closer. By the sound I could tell it was in front of the bin. Did it discover me? Then it became silent. Is it gone? After waiting a couple of minutes in complete silence I believed it was safe to say I was free.
I slowly opened my eyes only to see the hideous creature hovering above me. It was large. Resembling a mixture of a snake, a slug, and a spider all in one tremendously large monster. A large slug-like body, long like a snake's and the head resembled one of a snake's as well, but it's eight legs and dozens of eyes was that of a spider. It reeked and I began to gag on the fumes. A slimy substance began to drip off of it and land inside the bin in which I painfully lay in. I screamed so loudly, it scared me that I even had such a voice inside of me this whole time. It hurt my throat but that was all I could do for my last struggle. I had to fight until my last breath.
The monster above me drew back as if I had stunned it with my reaction but then came towards me full force. That's when everything went black. I don't remember feeling pain at that moment. I don't believe I had any feeling at all. I knew death was calling me and I was hoping I would soon be able to reunite with my parents once again and also join my siblings...
...Here I come everyone...
