Words Falling On Deaf Ears

I will not be the one
To die tonight.
That job I leave to you.

I will not be the one
To suffer from lack of sleep.
A lack of dreams.
No. That will be you.
It will be you.
And you will hear my screams.

YOU WILL HEAR ME!

You will listen.

And I will cause you pain
In every moment of
Either waking or rest.
Your guilt will be the burden
Of a thousand men or more,
And I will see that you bear it
Alone.

Just like I do.

But you need me
Far, far more than I need you.
More than I ever needed you.

I don't need you.
Beg and plead all you want.
I don't want to listen anymore.
