Alexis POV

I don't believe it. I made it. My hair is slick with sweat and I'm sure it is uncurled. I'm going to kill Aurore for not letting me bring a hairbrush with me. An apple rolls out of my bag, and I glance down at it, subconsciously trying to pick it up. Wait a minute. Something here seems different, like home, but not like home. I feel woozy and don't seem to be able to place the difference. Whatever. I pick up the apple, rub it on my shirt, and take a big, satisfying bite.

Francesca POV

Alexis doesn't seem right, I think to myself. She has a faraway look in her eyes. I think she might be in shock; well if she was, I wouldn't be surprised. I mean, Stone Age parents and dinosaurs nearly chomping you up to bits? Talk about traumatizing. I take a look at my surroundings and it registers in my mind. We are not home and more importantly, something is very, very wrong. The sky is a pale purple, with green clouds rolling in. The grassy moss we're sitting on is a pinkish red. Flowers dot the landscape, soft and luring. They seem to be beckoning and I feel really, really tired... NO! This place may be pretty, but it is unnatural, and something bad is guaranteed to happen.

Aurore, the only one who doesn't seem to be drooping, is playing on his D.S. on a power outlet that has magically appeared in thin air next to him. Alexis seems to have gotten over her bout of wooziness and apparently, so have I. Her hair is a mess, slicked down with sweat and mascara is running down her face. She looks ready to murder Aurore, quite literally. She punches him, and I know its time to go and break up a fight before it starts.

Alexis POV

I punched Aurore. * smile* Then, that little twerp starts sniffling. Gee, now I feel kind of bad. I reach down to pet him and then he pulls my hair and laughs. Hard. Agggggh! I race over to him and we begin a tussle. Francesca has to break us apart and suggests we go and take a look at our surroundings. I glare at Aurore, and he sticks his tongue out at me. With Aurore in front, Francesca in the middle, and me in the back, we carefully look around at this beautiful place. Its amazing the pinks and reds and purples are the best colors for lip gloss. Speaking of which, I wonder if I could take some flowers home and make some.

Everyone would be sooo jealous. Really, I wish I could bottle up some of the sparkly red sunshine and smear it on my lips. I might even stay here forever! It seems so welcoming, like it wants me to stay. Suddenly, a wind blows by and it seems like the grass is whispering "forever." Talk about entrancing, amazing, beautiful.

Aurore POV

I'm taking the lead, of course. I'm the best one here. This place is really creepy, it scares me. Well, of course I don't show it, Francesca and Alexis need a strong man; me. We've been hiking over this unnatural grass for a few hours, and my computer and my stomach are begging for attention. I suggest we eat, and we sit down to enjoy sandwiches and kind of old apples. Alexis still seems kind of weird, but I can dismiss that; she's ALWAYS weird.

I plop down and take my computer out. Immediately, a power outlet appears. I love this place! I could live here. Its kind of weird, the smell here makes me feel like I forgot something. In fact, I can't even remember how we got here. Anyways, I lose myself on my hp computer. Its really kind of fun here... Somewhere at the back of my mind I can tell Alexis is leaving to do something.

Alexis POV

They won't notice me gone, they're to busy eating. So, trying to be stealthy, I walk away in search of some more of those enchanting flowers. I find a beautiful pink one that'll do perfectly. It's a deeper red, almost like blood on the inside, and fades into pink on its soft, curled edges. I reach out to pluck it, and my last thought is " ."

Aurore POV

I've been staring at Alexis for some time now, and seeing her with that flower triggers something. I yell " Don't!" as loud as I can, but it's too late. One minute her head was there, the next minute it wasn't. The flower's edges turned razor sharp, and in one move severed her head. Her eyes are glassy, and blood is pooling around her neck. I'm gasping, trying to wake out of this nightmare. Alexis is dead. Dead. DEAD. My mind blanks, hopelessly trying to register what just happened. I'm sniffling, and trying really hard not to cry.

Alexis was my sister! What was I thinking? Why was I so mean? Why didn't I apologize? Now, I'll never get to. This is all my fault. Why did I drag her in the mirror? Why couldn't I ever be nice? A dam breaks up inside of me and I cry. Loud, heaving, sobs. Francesca reaches out to pat me and I shut my eyes, trying not to see Alexis's blank, accusing eyes.

Francesca POV

I can't believe it. I must be dreaming. No, no, no! Alexis can't be dead. I have to be strong for Aurore though, so I don't cry. I pat him gently and murmur comforting words in his ears. His eyes are scrunched up tight and tears are leaking through. I try to run over to Alexis. What will mother and father think of me?Suddenly, the plant that attacked Alexis is moving again. I am immobile with fear. What does it want? Alexis's head and body are lying in two different heaps, each drenched in blood, completely lifeless. Its leaves come out, and some sort of acid drips out over Alexis.

The instant the yellow liquid touches her face, her features melt and distort. It melts of some of the flesh on her cheeks and gives her mouth a horrifying, lopsided grin. One of her eyes have sunken in, and her cheeks are blooming a deathly green. The plant starts to inexplicably lick her up, and vines roam over her face and body. In seconds, her head is gone. I am really really glad Aurore did not have to see that. There is nothing, absolutely nothing I can do for her. I grab Aurore, and we run. Away, away from this monstrous place, and away from my sister's cold, dead body.
