A soft wind blew through the small hut, causing the cloths in the opening to flutter.
The village seemed quiet, peaceful even. A young man that shone like the sun walked through it´s silent streets. He stopped in front of the tiny hut and carefully pushed aside the cloths. Once he stepped inside he looked around and spotted a pile of animal skins, he slowly walked towards it and saw the pretty, young woman sleeping on them. Her curly brown hair framed her heart shaped face, and to him she looked almost angelic in the soft light of his ethereal glow.
She was his most devoted disciple, his trusted servant, a very pretty one at that. And like his father before him, he had primal urges. And this loyal mortal woman was to lay with him, he decided.
The young sun god bend down and stroked the womans hair before he kissed her affectionately.
The woman slowly opened her eyes and gasped at the appearance of the shiny god. Her first instinct was to bow for her lord. However Apollo made her face him and bend down, as his lips touched hers all of her worries, fears and doubts faded away. That night, the young god showed her the meaning of the word lust.
Nine months later:
The woman's blue eyes showed pain, fear and worry as she pushed. Her strength fading with each passing minute and yet she was to stubborn to just give up. She was an Amazon after all, they were known for their strength.
Her enormous pregnant belly was the cause for her distress, she was in labor.
For hours had she pushed, screamed and cried and so far she had nothing to show for it. To be honest, that worried her to no end.
"Push Ligeia, push!" The midwife yelled at the screaming, crying woman.
And as the last of her strength left her, Ligeia gave one last push. A sharp wail pierced the air and the midwife lifted a small, in goo and blood covered baby. "It's a girl." she called out. She handed the child to her mother and started cleaning up and taking care of the afterbirth.
Ligeia held her baby girl with tears in her eyes, this little miracle was all hers, gifted to her by their sacred god Apollo. "Chara, that's her name. Chara, she's beautiful." Ligeia whispered.
The infant, Chara, cooed softly and opened her baby blue eyes to look at her mother, the child seemed to have an glow to her, one that was slowly fading.
As the midwife watched the scene one thing became very clear to her, this child was no ordinary child. This infant was a demigodess, a daughter of Apollo.
