"Why did we fight in first place," wondered Lily aloud, "Why did we start?"
"Rome and Egypt fight because those stupid Romans stole something of ours, and it has cost us greatly."
"What was it?" said Lily (by now Steven had stepped away from Ivy, a look of horror on his face.
"Ask him!"
"Tell me, Steven."
"Well, it was a. . . pyramid top,"
"A sacred one at that, stole it off our teaching pyramid they did, cost us most of our powers!" said Ivy, still glaring at Steven. "Me and Rose were still little then."
"You and who?!"
"Rose Waters, my best friend."
"Oh..."
"Anyway the pyramid top generated the power of Horus to the lead teacher to well, teach the younger C.O.T.G., without the top only the most magical young Egyptians can be trained."
"That's dreadful!"
"And I recognize Steven, he was one of the attackers."
"Wait, Steven, you're twenty one, right?"
"How did you know?"
"So Ivy, how old are you?"
"Eleven"
"WOW! And how old were you when the attacked?"
"Three."
"OK..."
"Hey, I do remember you, you're the little girl who threw knives at me," said Steven worriedly. "Why weren't and aren't you dark, living in Egypt and all?"
"I've been wondering that too, why aren't you tanned, Ivy?"
"Well when I was one and a half I was orphaned by my dad (My mom kept watch over me) and I spent most of my time near fire, it bleached me. When I wandered into Egyptian territory my mother announced me immediately"
"Um..."
"WOW!"
"Can we just get down to business please?" said Ivy, embarrassed (She didn't like people pitying her).
"So how do we end this war?" Lily replied, seeing Ivy's embarrassment.
"Make them give back the golden pyramid top!"
"Why should we?!"
"Because, we did nothing to you and then you barge in and steal our most prized possession!"
"STOP FIGHTING!"
"..."
"Sure, if he will."
"HE WILL!"
"OK then...Why did the Romans and Greek fight?"
"Well, they disrespected our Greek gods, sacrificed us to their gods, and (of course) stole our gods' ways and turned them into more gruesome personalities for their gods. As well as," (here Lily began to tear up) "The incident" she finished.
"What incident?" Ivy asked. Steven gulped. It was from before his time as soldier, but he'd heard the stories.
"Around 9 years ago, I was on a team. We had one child of each major Greek god or goddess, and me. We did reconnaissance before attacks, also inside jobs. One job was in Rome. A simple one we'd done before. Download some files and leave. Simple, right? We were caught like fish in a net, surrounded by giant spiders. The others were sacrificed. I was able to hide because I was the smallest. I was the only one ever to see daylight again," Lily explained.
"Harsh. Was Steven there?" Ivy asked.
"No, it was before my time as leader," Steven answered for Lily, who had a distressed look on her face.
"Never mind that," Lily interrupted."All we need to do is make the Romans stop fighting, then all fights go off."
"Uh, not gonna happen, the Romans love war, they'll go to any price to make it, it is impossible to make everyone lose their will to fight."
"Why did you say 'they', you're a Roman too"
"Well, I'm not really for fighting."
"Why are you the leader of the C.O.T.G. in Rome then?"
"Um...I...kinda..."
"SPIT IT OUT!" said Ivy, not feeling sorry for Steven at all.
"I just kinda make friends easy and when everyone voted I got chosen"
"Okay then." said Lily.
"Why don't you just go make your little Roman friends give back the golden pyramid top, say sorry to the Greeks and go fight some monsters like the rest of us!" said Ivy coldly.
"It's not that simple, but I could try..." mumbled Steven. Suddenly Stevens back arched, straitened and arched again in so little time that Steven couldn't even say "ow".
"Whoa! You okay?" said Lily, thrown back.
"He's fine, it's just a spasm" said Ivy, giggling.
"And how do you know that?" said a suspicious Lily.
"When he stole the pyramid top I threw a "What does that mean?" poisoned dagger into his back, I still have the dagger,خنجر من الظلام (hun-jar, mun-a, vill-on)"
Ivy smiled mischievously and whispered "Dagger of Darkness", pulling a small silver and black thing from her pocket, as she pulled it out it grew turned into a small, wicked, green tinged dagger"
"AHHH!"
"What's your problem?" said Ivy, Its not like I'm going to throw it at you."
"I really hate you"
"I get that a lot from Romans, like Bret Nessal and Bradney Terance"
"Those guys went missing three months ago!"
"Disappeared on guard duty, I know."
"But...but...but..."
"Why don't we all just go home and tell our leaders what the each other said, Steven, try to get your friends to give back the Egyptians pyramid top and apologize to us Greeks, then everyone can be happy," interjected Lily.
"I'm good with that," agreed Ivy
"Um...okay, I'll try that, yeah."
"Goodbye for now Lily, I hope I can see you soon"
"Yeah, I hope so too"
"I hope I never see either of you again," mumbled Steven.
