The next morning, I couldn't sleep. I had this dream about something. I couldn't quite remember it now.
Since I couldn't sleep, I decided to get up and take an early stroll on the deck.
"Oh hi Captain," I muttered. As I had made my way to the ship's stern, the Captain had appeared as I was leaning over the white painted railing.
"May I join you?"
"What's troubling you?"
"Nothing it's just that I didn't sleep last night."
"And why is that?"
"I had this weird dream. I was in the ocean in my Moon Tail form of course, and then a shadow is right in front of me, and it stops there."
"That is quite weird, but hey, if you may want to discuss it, you know where I'm at."
"Thanks. I'm going to hurry to breakfast. Care to join me?"
"I'd love to,but I have files of paper to sort through. Good luck with Lisa."
As I was walking to the buffet table I ran into none other than Lisa.
"Hey Analise," Lisa said creepily.
"Hey you want to have dinner with me and Moon tonight?"
"Um. No, no thanks I just want to rest tonight. Maybe another time."
"Analise you've been resting all week. Come. It will be fun."
"No Lisa. I want to rest."
"All right , but sometime this week we need to get together."
"Well I got to go. It looks like the buffet is almost gone. See you later Analise."
I wasn't sure I wanted to ever see Lisa again this week, but after I saw Lisa leave the buffet table, I headed over there myself. Lisa was right. The food was almost completely gone. Luckily I grabbed the last two waffles and some coffee. I moved myself over to the fruit section and ran into this man who had some baggy jeans and an out of style t-shirt.
"I'm sorry- Oh hey Riley."
"Hey Analise. How have you been?"
"Are we still on for tonight? Shall we say, seven?"
"Yes we shall."
"I'll see you tonight then. It's a date."
A date. I haven't been on a date in years. This night would probably be the best thing that happened to me since on this cruise.
