Yay 2nd story here. 1st I plan to continue. It probably isn't the best literary piece ever written, so I strive to get better!
Everyone knows that everyone dies. The difference between greatness, and normal, is that you want change, that you have the will to make a difference. I was told that if I have a dream, if I have the will to do something, then it shouldn't matter if you end up dying for it, right?
Sometimes, when in the maze of life, you feel like it will never end. But you can't run forever. Sometimes you have to make a stand, and do something. We only have a short time in this world. To me, being a regular person, not being someone worth being, is just a waste of life. A life not worth living is better off being a life that does something.
Sometimes change just needs a little push.
So if you walk up to me, stare me straight in the eye, and ask, "Why do you do this?" That is what I will say. All I know is that if I don't do something, my very existence, will be for nothing.
Cyrus. The name rolled in my mouth as I thought of it. Cyrus. My name, what of it? It's just a name. But… a name can be a powerful thing. Or at least, that's what the village shaman said. Magic now exists, so now what is a fantasy, can now be reality.
I still can't believe that my ancestors live in a time before magic. Back when that thing called science existed. Now instead of science we have sorcery and witchcraft.
It all started a few million years ago, when some archeologists found a portal into this world. That portal that led to a place unlike any other, it led to this world. It led to a glorious world, filled with mythological creatures, unique plants and some new intelligent life. Once it was deemed safe, all the humans migrated into this world.
Of course, the natives here were not happy with our invasion. The military's guns, and bombs were ineffective. So at first we had no idea how to fight them. But eventually we found out that swords and spears in this world are more powerful than our standard gear.
So even when we could combat them, their magic and superior weaponry over took us. One by one, however the natives slowly bred with my ancestors, so a new race was born. Different clans had different genes that altered our bodies and minds differently.
One clan made the intellect superior, while diminishing their strength. They were called Elves
Another made them extremely strong, yet they weren't the brightest tools in the shed. They were named the Rams.
But finally, my clan made us a more combat ready being. Not as strong as the rams, but stronger than the elves, wiser than the rams, but less intelligent than the elves
So in a one on one battle, we can outwit the rams, but over power the elves.
"Ugh… the sun... it hurts…" I mumbled as I got out of my bed. I grabbed a fresh change of clothes and headed outside. I stretched out my arms then went to the river to bathe.
I stepped in to the river, letting it's current wash away the grit that accumulated on my body overnight. I soon got out of the river and changed into a fresh tunic.
I headed in the direction of the village. Once arriving I head to the plateau where our meals were served. I sat down at a table after grabbing a small plate of food.
"Everyone, come quick!"
I got up and headed over to the man who yelled. He was pointing to something over the horizon. I squinted my eyes to try to find what he was pointing at.
What I saw was something that changed my life forever.
