A WOLF AND HIS BOY

There was a story long ago

told by young and old.

About a wolf and his boy,

living together in utter joy.

Many thought it madness

to show a beast such kindness.

For a human child to love a wolf and care

without thinking it unfair.

They tried to fight the beast

the boy to save at least.

But they didn't know

that the beast wasn't a beast at all.

He was a man left alone

without a family or a home.

Burned by love at a young age,

he soot the help of a mage.

To take away his pain and feelings,

to turn him into a beast bent on mindless killings.

Once a month on the full moon

he would bring a bloody doom

on those standing in his way,

not caring what they had to say.

But then came a boy, sweet and fragile

with warm hugs and a mouth running a mile.

He gave the wolf what he had once lost,

what his heart craved the most.

And so not a beast

lives with the boy, not in the least.

Just a wolf.

A wolf with his boy.

Thoughts? :)
