Telepath

It's so sad because
I can't tell him I love him.

Letters don't work because
I don't have the words.
And stamps are too expensive anyway.

I can't use the telephone
Because I have no number to call.
And I lack the courage to sing
The words of the song my heart plays
Every hour of the day and night.

I could never say it to his face…
At least not until he said it first.

So I shall sit in resounding silence,
And just think it at him, as loud as I can.
Maybe one day,
One day,
He'll look up and realise how I feel.
