Fondling and caressing
she overlooks her view
he's sitting with her in the cafe
right next to the blue lagoon.
She watches him slide
his delicate fingers down another girl's face
when all the while she's holding in
her gasps echoing her disgrace.
She did not understand
all the thoughts swimming in her head
because all she could remember
was that one line that he said:
''Til death do us part.''
Is this what he meant
had he been lying all along?
Did his vows mean nothing
Was he singing the wrong song.
A warm tear fell down in silence
upon her glowing right cheek
mirroring the bitter salt from the sea
and the new life that she must seek.
