Mom was singing oh-so-cheerfully and she opened my curtains and started to pack them. Ugh stupid world, as you can tell I despise mornings. "5 more minutes" I said into my pillow. But all that came out was a mumble; curse my inability to be coherent in the mornings. "Wake up sleeping beauty, don't make me drag you out of bed." Mom said. Cassie if I have to be up you have to be up! Lacey said as she came in. When are we leaving? I groaned. 20 minutes. Mom said. WHAT! And you are just now waking me up mom! I practically yelled. I raced to the bathroom after grabbing my clothes. Mom? I heard Lacey say. I thought we were leaving at 9 not at 8? Oh we are, I just said that to get her out of bed. I then heard mom say. Wait a second that means, MOM! So you woke me up for nothing?! I yelled. No I just needed you relatively pleasant this morning. Mom said.
I sat in the car glaring at the window waiting to leave. And once we left I went to sleep. It seemed to be the same dream that I had last night…
Once again I was running after the man who looks like dad but this time he looked younger. I was trying to understand what was going on I mean that explosion that the man I mean dad was in couldn't be true. Dad died in a car crash not an explosion. It was a truck driver and he was drunk and his truck blew up but not dads. Then I saw where he was going it looked like a warehouse. Then I heard a voice and it speaking in a different language, I couldn't tell what though. It sounded like, like Latin? I went inside and there was this creature that looked like it was in pain. And it was in the air but nothing was holding it in the air, and then I saw the younger version of dad holding his hand up like he was holding something. Suddenly I realized he was a telepath just like grandma! He began chanting again in Latin, the creature began to writhe in pain and then it was it I guess exploded. Not the kind of explosion that leaves a mess but it exploded into smoke. The man turned around and I was shaken awake.
Cassie, Lacey said. We're at grandmas. That started to register in my mind that means. Is buster outside yet?! I asked getting out of the car. Um no but knowing grandma he will be. Lacey said confused. Yes! I won't miss it. I said excitedly. As we got our stuff a look of realization dawned on Lacey's face. Cassie what did you do, I know that look you've done something. Lacey demanded. Wait and you'll find out. I said with a smirk. Then as if on cue Buster and Grandma came out of the house. And Buster ran straight towards John and tackled him, he then started to well I guess chew on his clothes. Me and Lacey tried to contain our laughter but couldn't, we were laughing so hard we could hardly stand.
When grandma finally got Buster to get off of John I was yelled at. YOU! He yelled. You did this I don't know how but you did, it's the only thing that makes sense! So you are saying that I somehow got Buster who is a dog to go and attack you. I said. How could she of done that she was asleep in the car. Mom tried to reason. Cassie didn't do anything Buster just doesn't always take well to men especially tall men. Grandma said as she came back from taking Buster inside. And why do you insist on blaming Cassie for everything? Sure she has a temper but she wouldn't purposely hurt anyone. So why don't you stop accusing my granddaughter of being a demon spawn. Grandma continued. I looked at Grandma in shock wondering if she was still talking about me. We all know that I enjoy making The Idoit's life a living hell, his and my teachers and occasionally other people. Wow now I'm starting to sound like a demon spawn. I thought. But she had to of done this, Linda a little help? He stuttered. Well she is right Buster isn't always very comfortable around men so that might be why he went after you like he did. Mom said. After that John stormed away muttering about Grandma being a witch. Sorry mom but I have to go after him. Mom said walking away. Well now that we have had our excitement for the day how about a hug from you girls. Grandma said with a smile. Hey Grandma. Lacey and I said as we took turns hugging her. Oh stop growing! Grandma exclaimed. Grandma are you going to say that every time you see us? Lacey asked and Cassie rolled her eyes. Yes I am. Now why don't we go inside and catch up? Grandma said as we walked inside. So do you girls have any boys after you? GRANDMA! Lacey and I said. What did I do? Grandma said feigning innocence.
Later that night we were again talking to Grandma. Cassie I am just wondering but did you do something to cause Buster to go after John? Grandma asked with a knowing look. Maybe. I said. Lacey rolled her eyes and Grandma laughed. Ok now I didn't want to go into this but have either of you discovered any, Grandma hesitated wondering what to say. Abilities I guess you could call it. Lacey and I fell silent. I am going to take that as a yes. Grandma sighed. Which one of you? Me. I whispered. Can I ask what happened? Grandma asked gently. Lacey gave me an encouraging look. It was a little after dad died so about two years ago, I got really mad and lost control and next thing I know it was thundering and lighting. There was a small tornado and when I stopped the whole park was full of wreckage. I said with a blank look on my face. There was a pause. Well why don't we talk about this more in the morning so I can explain everything to you. Goodnight I love you both. Grandma said and she then kissed our foreheads. When Lacey went to her room I sat there looking around the room just sitting there. I wasn't thinking about anything I just sat there hoping I wouldn't dream anything tonight.
