Death has now come for me
As he did once before
He told me that he loved me
That I know for sure
But now he has changed somehow
Time has aged his face
His words are gentler now
Or maybe it's just a preface
He says he wants to protect me
He says evil is to come
If I go will I truly be safe
Be with him and not the sun
They say I cannot trust him
They say he is the end
Yet I know him better than them
And to me he is a friend
I know I shouldn't feel like this
As I know what is to come
I will savour every moment with him
Until he tells me to run
Death has now come for me
As he did once before
I promised I would go to him
And I promise this evermore
