I shut the light off.
Quick as a flash I run upstairs.
Before the darkness can swallow me whole.
I run into my bedroom
Gasping hard for my breathe to return.
I switch the bright light on.
I memorize the walkway in the room.
I shut the light off again.
I dash to the bed
As scared and frightened as a lost toddler.
I dive deep onto the bed .
Wrap myself in blankets.
I run away into my subconscious.
Where nothing can harm me.
And I can have pleasant dreams
About absolutely nothing
As free as a bird
To never return
