Blissful Ignorance
Knowing is the hardest part.
Before that, it doesn't hurt quite as much.
But after you discover the honest truth
and all the things that are really happening
behind another person—a friend's—eyes,
your whole world can be turned upside-down.
Knowing is the hardest part.
If you didn't know, you could stay the same,
just as you have always been up until then.
"Knowledge is power." But power comes with a cost.
Especially when you have to say give an honest opinion
about the things that you have learned.
Knowing is the hardest part.
Sometimes, they won't forgive you
even if you never actually meant to hurt them.
And, in all honesty, you've been hurt as well.
Everything that you know has been broken
and you long once more for blissful ignorance.
